These brick chimneys are part of a museum brick factory in the famous pottery town of Tokoname, Japan.

Brick is rarely seen here about, the local limestone being prominent. But in this case, the brick makes a good storage heater for the climbers.

Slightly smaller than the storage brick, and came with this System sign attached underneath! I might actually try find somewhere to hang this, I was considering cutting the sign off, as it's only held with a standard retail tagging tie, but I might leave it on now.

Scottish Agricultural Industries was a subsidiary of the state-owned Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI to you and me) and produced fertiliser and such like. This interesting building front at the former factory on Salamander Street remains. Interesting that they have both Despatch and Dispatch offices!
On the 1895 Ordnance Survey town plan of Edinburgh, this is marked as a Chemical Works and Bone Works, conveniently located across the road from Leith Slaughter House and Leith Soap Works.
The 1898 GPO directory for Edinburgh and Leith would explain the "J&J C" crest;

I was looking so fresh until the first bump and they exploded all over the dash! Should have seen that coming LOL. Anyways, they were making an awful ruckus for the two and a half minutes they lasted.
Maybe I could fill 'em with something and glue it all together. Feel free if you have any suggestions..
And if anyone reading this cares, I have some real new MOCs on the way very soon. :)

The Slade Rooms, Broad Street, Wolverhampton. Much of the terracotta in central Wolverhampton seems to have a Green Man theme.
Old Nelsonville Brick Kilns
Nelsonville, Ohio
Nelsonville pavers, produced in the Hocking River valley in northwestern Athens County, are known for their salt-glazed surfaces. This glazing helped to make the pavers watertight and gave the blocks a very distinctive and attractive surface. Most of these bricks were made from the Lower Kittanning fireclay. Some of the old kilns and stacks of the Nelsonville Brick Company are preserved at Brick Kiln Park, on the west side of Nelsonville.
Nelsonville also is famous for its decorative sidewalk pavers, which include stars, circles, and flowers, all having the characteristic glazed surface.

As I was walking to the butcher after work tonight the sun belting down on this red brick wall and the composition of all the elements within this shot caught my eye.
Took a pile of pictures at Brick Fiesta this year. Turnout was a bit disappointing compared to last year, but still had fun. I seemed to be damn near the only non-Texan at the con.
Bricks Cascade is less than two months away, so come join in the fun! Here are just a few of the things happening at Bricks Cascade's first year...
Castle - "Winter is Coming" Castle's theme is from the incredible books and TV series, "Game of Thrones". There are plenty of prizes, but only one brave AFOL will win the coveted Iron Throne. Other awards include "Honorable Castle", "Impenetrable Castle", and "Bannerman", for the best collaborative build.
Space - "Space Invasion" Whether it be humans or aliens, bring your military ships, vehicles, and moonbase modules to be a part of an all out invasion. AFOLs who register MOC cards ahead of time for their space creations, will earn Combat Ribbons for their badges. The trophies themselves will be in the form of a Medal and matching combat ribbon.
Mecha - "Why can't we be FRIENDS?" That's right, bring your best FRIENDS themed mecha to be crowned "FRIENDliest Mech", or if that's not your style, build and bring a war machine to compete for "Unfriendliest Mech"! Maybe you want to try your hands at a non combat mech. Build anything from pizza delivery, to strip mining, anything is eligible for "Best Supporting Role"
New games include:
Blind Minfig Sort - Test your tactile skills against your friends to see who can identify unopened, collectible minifigs the fastest.
Brick Hunt - Find the real LEGO bricks among a pile of fakes. The winner is the one who finds the most! Keep what you find, because who knows? There might be some rare pieces mixed in...
Blind Pair Build - Pick a partner and test out your building skills. One of you can only see the instructions, while the other can only see the bricks. You must guide your partner as they attempt to build a LEGO set based only on what you tell them.
If you want to come set up early, the tables will be set up and ready for MOCS Thursday, May 31st, at noon.

I have a weakness for diagrams of things I would never dream of doing or building! This was salvaged from an old promotional booklet published by Cleveland Publications, Los Angeles, CA, 1939 for the "Manufactuerers and Dealers Brick & Clay Products."
