The water and dragonfly were still for a moment and I was able to capture a reflection shot at the perfect time. I'm not sure what kind of dragonfly it is, but I love these type of minimalistic shots.

The name "waxwing" comes from the waxy red secretions found on the tips of the secondaries of some birds. The exact function of these tips is not known, but they may help attract mates. (all about birds)

The areas beyond the water way on either side of Spillway Trail at Brazos Bend State Park is ablaze with beautiful yellow wildflowers. I believe these wildflowers to be Cut Leaf Groundsel. If incorrect, please let me know! Also, I would like the correct identification of these trees.

Caught a glimpse of all of these little lizards and their mom at Brazos Bend State Park. I actually heard their little calls before I saw them. This windmill is at the Nature Center at Brazos Bend and I always think how cool it would look set against the sunset - but I always try to be in the swamp at sunset.

This time i was just too late for what I usually do, so I instead did what I have thought about for a while.
