There is increasing evidence in rehabilitation medicine and the field of neuroscience that art enhances brain function by impacting brain wave patterns, emotions, and the nervous system. Art can also raise serotonin levels. These benefits don't just come from making art, they also occur by experiencing art.

From the session: "The Neuroscience of Art:

What are the Sources of Creativity and Innovation?" (February 21 to 26, 2015)

---

In recent years, there have been an increasing number of scientific investigations into art, exploring what actually happens in the brain during the creative process. Most of these collaborations have been based in neuroscience and psychological approaches to how art is perceived, produced and created, with music the main focus of studies carried out to date. These studies have yielded important new information that relates to a very basic fact of human biology: all behavior, even that as complex as creativity, can be linked to brain function. Building on this fundamental linkage, the neurobiology of art promises to yield exciting new insights as this research field evolves. Creative behavioral patterns are likely to be a critical component for developing the neurological capacity for innovation.

This Salzburg Global program represents a pioneering step to establish a neutral international forum to discuss state-of-the-art findings from a cross-disciplinary perspective, prioritize future research, and expand creative opportunities for learning, innovation and collaboration. While much research is taking place in various national and regional settings, more global dialogue is needed between specialist silos in order to catalyze knowledge exchange around the results, implications and potential practical applications of new cutting-edge research.

Brain Cancer Diagnostics Market Overview:

Brain cancer is essentially a disease where the cancer cells grow at an abnormal rate to form a mass of cancer tissue that obstructs brain functions like sensation, memory, muscle control, etc. Brain Cancer is categorised as grade I, grade II, grad III and grad IV. In grade I, the tissue developed is harmless or benign and it looks identical to the normal brain cells but with a slower growth. In grade II, the developed tissue is malignant or cancerous, but it looks like normal brain cells just like grade I. In grade III and IV, the developed tissues are in an abnormal state and their growth rate is more as compared to grade I or grade II. MRI scans, PET scan, CT scans are conducted in order to understand the cell damage levels which can help them in diagnosing the patient in the future. With the rising number of cigarette consumers has increased the number of patients diagnosed with brain cancer, thus asssiting in the augmentation of the market.

FutureWise Market Research has instantiated a report that provides an intricate analysis of Brain Cancer Diagnostics Market trends that shall affect the overall market growth. Furthermore, it includes detailed information on the graph of profitability, SWOT analysis, market share and regional proliferation of this business. Moreover, the report offers insights on the current stature of prominent market players in the competitive landscape analysis of this market.

Heart Function Tied to Brain Function

Heart Function Tied to Brain Function:- Lower cardiac output has been tied to poorer cerebral blood flow (CBF) in the temporal lobes of older adults without heart failure, a finding that adds to a growing body of research linking heart health to brain...

The last in the series of containers which represent the deterioration in brain function as a result of dementia.

This shows a close up of the "window" which allows you to look into the interior where you see a fragment of sheet music containing the words "Break my heart"

ok - spent entire day on couch trying not to sleep, but too buggared to actually do anything - hideous insomnia at the moment. Nothing is working. Nothing at all. Not even sleeping tabs from the Doc.

So obviously no brain function to even think about my daily pic.

Just got home from a night at a friends engagement party, walked in the door and saw someone link a daily pic on flickr and went ARRRRRGH!!! (this is at 11.35pm mind you!).

so as a result - it ain't great, it ain't thought out, but its a pic, and its of me, taken by me and it's def today.

Will try think of a pic in the morning for you all!

Or all night..........with the insomnia - you know how it goes!

Purti Soyalite is low in saturated fat but high in poly-unsaturated fats, basically it can seriously decrease your chance of atherosclerosis (a disease of the arteries characterized by the deposition of fatty material on their inner walls) and other heart conditions, such as heart attacks and strokes. Polyunsaturated fats also include the essential fatty acids, Linoleic (Omega-6) & alpha-linolenic (Omega-3) i.e. PUFA, which everyone must obtain through diet, which are crucial for normal growth, development and brain function. It contains B-Sitosterol also which helps to reduce high cholesterol & trouble of urinating because of an enlarged prostate.

Do not awake, human, Do not awake. Close your eyes and cease alpha wave brain function.

More than 250 participated in the first annual Superintendent’s Fitness Challenge 5K Fun Run on May 5, 2012. Superintendent of Public Instruction Larry K. Shumway has challenged the educational community to get fit this school year. It’s an effort to encourage educators to embrace fitness as a way to improve brain function and overall health and to provide a good example for Utah’s youth.

Steven Strogatz has a way of finding rhythm in places most people overlook. In his office at Malott Hall at Cornell, and later in the Space Sciences Building at the SPIF, that rhythm came alive in a simple but elegant experiment. Two small metronomes ticked on a shared platform, gradually aligning their beats as if discovering a shared pulse. Strogatz leaned in, smiling as the synchronization unfolded. The moment captured both his joy and his curiosity, the twin forces that have guided his life in mathematics.

For decades, Strogatz has explored the hidden order beneath the world’s apparent chaos. His work has spanned from the synchrony of fireflies flashing in unison to the oscillations of the human heart. He has revealed how patterns emerge naturally when systems, whether biological, physical, or social, interact in just the right way. His research on coupled oscillators, complex networks, and nonlinear dynamics has reshaped how scientists think about everything from brain function to the spread of ideas.

At Cornell, Strogatz is known as a gifted communicator who bridges the gap between advanced mathematics and everyday experience. His lectures attract students from across the university. In books such as Sync, The Joy of x, and Infinite Powers, he writes with clarity and wonder, turning abstract ideas into stories that feel alive. His voice carries the same enthusiasm whether he is explaining calculus or describing the geometry of friendship.

What sets him apart is not only his command of mathematics but his warmth and wit. He listens as carefully as he speaks, often finding metaphors in the natural world or in a casual conversation with a colleague. His humor disarms. His curiosity invites. Watching him adjust the metronomes, eyes bright behind his glasses, it is easy to understand why students and collaborators describe him as both rigorous and kind.

Beneath it all is a belief that mathematics is not separate from life but a language that reveals its beauty. The dance of the metronomes, the firing of neurons, the movement of planets, and the laughter shared across a classroom all express a single truth about connection and harmony.

In person, Strogatz radiates calm delight in the act of discovery. The photograph from that afternoon shows him resting on his arms, thoughtful, as the metronomes begin to fall into sync before him. It is a quiet moment that suggests something larger, a glimpse of the universal tendency toward order and the human impulse to understand it.

Book description

This timely volume examines links between the emerging neurobiological research on adult learning and the adult educators practice. Now that it is possible to trace the pathways of the brain involved in various learning tasks, we can also explore which learning environments are likely to be most effective. Topics explored in The Neuroscience of Adult Learning include: basic brain architecture and executive functions of the brainhow learning can repair the effects of psychological trauma on the braineffects of stress and emotions on learningthe centrality of experience to learning and construction of knowledgethe mentor-learner relationshipintersections between best practices in adult learning and current neurobiological discoveriesVolume contributors include neurobiologists, educators, and clinical psychologists who have illuminated connections between how the brain functions and how to enhance learning.Although the immediate goal of this volume is to expand the discourse on adult teaching and learning practices, the overarching goal is to encourage adult learners toward more complex ways of knowing. This is the 110th volume of New Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, a quarterly publication published by Jossey-Bass.

One officious JOY employee manning their stand at AIMEX informed me that I was not permitted to take photographs on the stand, so I took one anyway. Guess they were scared I might photograph their equipment and then go home and knock a few up in my back yard.

So I went outside were there was an unattended roof support, photographed it from all angles, took countless measurements with my pocket tape measure and now I'm building a fully working 1:1 scale reproduction in my living room. Ha ha...so much for overzealous individuals with diminished brain function.

There is increasing evidence in rehabilitation medicine and the field of neuroscience that art enhances brain function by impacting brain wave patterns, emotions, and the nervous system. Art can also raise serotonin levels. These benefits don't just come from making art, they also occur by experiencing art.

Ten USAMRICD personnel visited the center to teach children about four senses: touch, sight, hearing and smell with hands-on activities. The children also learned about personal protective equipment.

“Our five senses connect us to the world around us and all senses connect to our brain,” Hoard-Fruchey said. “At USAMRICD, we have many neuroscientists and we are keenly aware of how import brain function is for quality of life. These activities are meant to get very young children excited about science and thinking about our five senses in relation to both our brain power and our interactions with daily life.”
