Cybernetic tortoise

William Grey Walter made this artificial creature which was a light seeker but obstacle avoider: two useful skills for any tortoise. (The see-through shell is for our benefit, not original.) Walter was a neurologist who was interested in brain function rather than in tortoises per se.
