The 10/19/20 Macro Mondays theme is String. This is 18 pound test braided nylon fishing line.

Classic braided river.

The water really is a striking blue - I think its from old glacial dust carried in the flow. Or am I making up stories? ....hmmmm.

Some work with levels and curves (original image was very faint).

Another not-great image but it fits my river story. And I love seeing this river from the air.

My first time trying this style with layered hair, yikes! I think it will be better to do it when it's partially wet. I've been waiting for the warmer weather so I could wear this with my dress. Perfect for today!

Taieri River is a braided river and is part of the Kakanui Ranges of the Southern Alps.

More convoluted fun!

1. To begin, start with clean dry hair and style it into two high ponytails, Leave an optional fringe for finishing later.

2. Divide the first ponytail in two. Make one thicker than the other, by about a 1/3.

3. Braid the larger piece... Three strand, left over center/right over center. Or whatever you feel more comfortable. Secure with a hair tie

4. ROPE braid the thiner piece and secure with a hair tie. The rope braid will give you a thiner, longer braid, than a regular braid. This will be essential when wrapping. For more information please refer to the rope braid tutorial www.flickr.com/photos/aveuch/4594343473/in/photostream/

5. REPEAT

6. Wrap the rope braid AROUND the three-strand braid

7. Secure with a hair pin

8. REPEAT

9. Wrap the three-strand braid on the left OVER and UNDER the braid on the right. Secure with a hair pin.

10. Wrap the three-strand braid on the right OVER and UNDER the braid on the left. Secure with a hair pin.

11. Take the left over fringe, roll, and tuck under the braids. Secure with a hair pin

This hairstyle travels EXCEPTIONALLY well. It can last and last and last. And looks amazing, One final perk is that one you decide to let it down, you'll have a fabulous soft set wave! Make sure to post photos!!!

ODC-Braid Or Braiding

This is made of Wicker. It's on the side of our couch in the living room.

When my beard was long Sarah was NOT happy. So she insisted that I let her braid my beard to make it look less unkempt. Here's what she did! I told her the main reason for me to have a long beard is that I am just too damn lazy to care. Braiding it will require way too much effort. So it was like this for a couple of days and we were back to the wild and untamed.
