Braided aerial roots of Banyan tree coming out from a branch

The big banyan tree is mainly composed of aerial roots that provide support to it.

Noraa finds it very relaxing when her friends braid her hair.

Amanda is concentrating, she must do a very looong braid, and it is not as easy as it seems!

Elsa wonders... why nobody is braiding her hair?

Blythe a Day. February 2026. Day 5.

i took these videos last month before i trimmed my hair. they aren't the greatest (i sound so silly on video...yuck) and had planned to re-make them, but decided to post these anyway. hope this is helpful!

note: i uploaded them to my vimeo account, because the files were too big to upload to flickr.

Blythe a Day - Hair Style You love the most - 2/22/22

Here is Winterish Allure in her royal roles. Love her hair braided and pinned back.

My recycled photos here. I did a new photo for this prompt, but Winterish's hair looks better in this style that Joana Gentiana who I photographed. I think it is because the braids are longer so they show more from the front.

I have taken too many random shots lately... I think. =) Maybe it's because of the randomly awesome life people have during the summer! Anyway, I hope you're enjoying yours!!

i never really cared for french braiding cause i sucked and didn't really understand how to do it. i still kind of suck. haha.

however, i like to french braid my hair like this now thanks to my friend.

Braided Tree Trunk with branches on one side

Sometimes I love to wear cute braids.

From above, the braided river carves intricate paths through black volcanic sands, painting a surreal mosaic in the Icelandic wilderness.

Dall’alto, il fiume intrecciato incide percorsi intricati nelle sabbie vulcaniche nere, creando un mosaico surreale nella natura islandese.

Took a short walk around the neighborhood looking for stuff to shoot and this was one of my victims :-)

The picture shows the braided Waimakariri River near Arthur's Pass on New Zealand's South Island. Globally, braided rivers are rare. They exist only where a very specific combination of climate and geology allows rivers to form ever-changing and highly dynamic braided channels across a wide gravelly riverbed.

New Zealand is a braided river hot-spot, with most of our braided rivers in Canterbury, on the eastern side of the Southern Alps' main divide. Problems faced by the braided rivers ecosystem are invasive plants along with the extraction of shingle, irrigation and electricity generation, and conversion of braided river margins to intensive agriculture. The photo shows a patch of Russell lupins invading the riverbed. Although Russell lupins may look beautiful, they are an aggressive introduced weed that smothers braided riverbeds by growing in dense stands on bare gravel areas. Well adapted to living in the challenging environments of braided rivers, they can produce their own nutrients (nitrogen) and are very effective at dispersing their seeds. Their roots become entwined and hold the gravel together, forming stable areas. The river erodes the edges, creating steep banks. This restricts the water so that instead of braiding, it develops deep, fast-flowing channels, unsuitable for wading birds to feed in. The dense stands also take over the open spaces where braided river birds like to nest. This is deeply concerning for rare and endangered birds that nest exclusively along braided rivers, which normally feed in shallow river braids. Russell lupin also provide cover to introduced predators such as stoats and cats to sneak up on birds. Source: braid.org.nz

36th roll of film

I love to do this with my hair. Braids everywhere!

Simple french braid on top and put the ponytail in a bun, came out great.

It’s way too hot for hair. I’m not ready for a buzz cut, so a french braid will do.

I’m 90% sure that I will be cutting my hair much shorter at my next salon visit. In the meantime, I grateful to be able to braid back the current length when it’s hot (and/or my hair needs a wash).

Ok so I decided to do another one of these. I was inspired by Stephanie's Sweet Sunday shots. Please check out her stream!! Add her as a contact! She's a very sweet person! Give her your support!

Another one for Macro Mondays challenge Twist

Sometimes I love to wear cute braids.

Before she had her hair cut, she wanted to have one "unique" idea of hers photographed, that of her using her braid as a paint brush in a sort of part creative, part hair, part figure photo shoot.

This shoot was her initial idea. When she explained it to me, I interpreted it differently ("Braid Painting, 2") and even did concept shots and a gesture drawing, where she envisioned "Braid Painting, 1."

So, she has a form fitting leotard and her long hair in a braid. The "paint" is yogurt with food coloring. The leotard is completely transparent, a side effect of needing to be a neutral colour in order to be made blue in Photoshop, those colours being as thick as a sheer pantyhose. Effectively, her idea was how to make a nude photo she could show to friends and family... And they loved it.

Immediately after washing out the yogurt, she cut her hair and could no longer do this shot. Unfortunately, I haven't uploaded these shots because I've been exceptionally lazy when it comes to post processing.

I suppose if you like it, you should let her know here and I'll pass it on.

Braided Corona Star, Corona Star Series (Maria Sinayskaya)

squares, 8 units, no glue

The star is just a more advanced variation of the Braided Star which was created last year. The Braided Star on steroids if you will:) By adding some additional folds to the unit it's possible to make these little corners pop out for a "two-layered" effect.

If you like this braided look in the center make sure to check out this great video tutorial by Sara Adams featuring the basic Braided Star!
