I have a thing for them. I just love them!. She never lets me braid her hair, but today she was excited because we were going Ice-Skating, so I talked her into it hehe. I'm pretty proud of the result, considering she kept moving while I was making them.

Not sure about this pic, but I have a weakness for back portratis and braids so yeah, I decided to upload it.

July 8, 2007. Fatimata comes from Eastern Burkina Faso, but has traveled to the capital, Ouagadougou, to visit relatives. She takes the opportunity of a brief respite from cooking and laundry to get her hair braided.

I think it's the best tucked French braid I've ever done!!

Milkmaid braids have been an obsession of mine for quite some time and I'm so happy to be able to put my hair up in them! yay! The kanzashi headband was made by my darling friend Fee at www.peachypan.com

Now I need to try out double dutch braids.

Chotlo, I really love some of the french braids that are in your photo stream. Some of the braids on Flickr look like works of art. I wish I could braid something more than a french or dutch braid...

A braided river system shaped by sediment, flow, and time.

On my way to french braid #100, slowly but I'll get there eventually,

Everyday is a special day!

A poster for the famous 1960s musical, Braids.

Braids is the story of four sisters who are in the army.

Bloodthirsty to the core, they love nothing better than a full on charge with bayonets, much shouting and the simple pleasures of military drill at dawn.

Of course, such an idyllic existence can't last, and demobilisation soon rears its ugly head.

As the film ends, the sisters are hurled into a peacetime nightmare, where all they can do each day is hang about looking soppy in trees and braiding each other's hair.

All this with a set of songs unparalleled at the time, including the catchy "This is the yawning of the way of the Erebus", and "Earth".

Yet another beautiful french braid...

Needs to be braided more tightly...

I was getting tired of regular buns so I braided my ponytail and pinned it using 4 decorative hairpins as I also got bored using small claw clips to hold my hair in place.

Just another tucked french braid. I need some free time to try some new styles...:)

Jo: Yes this is my hair. Yes I took the picture myself. I had 6 braids in at the time but I think their is only 5 of them in the picture.

When I took this shot, I thought it was a pair of pretty little girls with braids; then I realised it was mother & daughter. I felt quite bad about taking it afterwards.

Another experiment with Kumihimo braid. For this piece I've had a go at making polymer clay cord ends to match the pendant.

Lattice braid, also known as a diamond braid or macrame braid. This was a quick braid job and I did not realize that I had skipped a diamond in the 6th row. I've seen other lattice braids that end in a row of long tassles but I liked the way that the tapered braid looked on Saint.

I've always loved braiding my granddaughters' hair :-)

This is my eldest, she is 22 years of age, a collage student, my pride and joy.
