hair done up for the market

Simply did a french braid on top and finished with a fishtail braid with the remaining hair.

Here I cropped out most of the white. I also rotated it so the braid was up. Thanks again, Crow!

The second french braid ponytail that I've done.

I love how the highlights come together in the middle of the braid.

Yet another beautiful french braid...

Just another tucked french braid. I need some free time to try some new styles...:)

Jo: Yes this is my hair. Yes I took the picture myself. I had 6 braids in at the time but I think their is only 5 of them in the picture.

Lattice braid, also known as a diamond braid or macrame braid. This was a quick braid job and I did not realize that I had skipped a diamond in the 6th row. I've seen other lattice braids that end in a row of long tassles but I liked the way that the tapered braid looked on Saint.

I've always loved braiding my granddaughters' hair :-)

This is my eldest, she is 22 years of age, a collage student, my pride and joy.

Tight braids and ponytails sometimes give me a headache so here is a pic of a french braid that I did loosely.

Slightly off center french braid ponytail but not bad.

We did a small group shoot on the top level of a Boise parking garage on a nipply day in late November 2020. Great models, decent weather except for the cold wind, and nice lighting. Cheveynne was there showing off her braids and looking good before she turned blue. I give her kudos for toughing this out!

ODC Our Daily Challenge: Braid or Plat

Tucking in the braid helps it from getting it in the way while at work...

My daughter Becky had her hair braided by these lovely ladies. She looked gorgeous throughout our entire vacation. I opted to swim in the ocean instead, and ended up with a sunburn and frizzy out of control hair. No regrets, but I do have some rediculous images of me! I will spare you all a lot of pain by not posting them! lol!

I shoveled snow for 2 hours this morning, so I'm now reflecting on warmer days ahead and behind me.

This braided stream is the effluent from part of the Katla Glacier seen in previous photos. The braided characteristic comes from the change in flow volume and velocity from peak melting of the glacier during the summer to less melting and flow as the weather becomes cooler. As a result of its higher flow in summer, the stream is able to transport coarser material, such as coarse gravel, cobbles and boulders. When flow diminishes, the coarse sediment is dropped and the stream develops multiple channels through the debris. The braiding is particularly evident here.

Another one of those gloomy, rainy times. Iceland.

Normally, I am not a fan of this type of art, but then, she has #redhair , so, had too.

I do just want to say that I respect the talent of this artist, even if it might now fit my particular style...if that makes any sense.

The herringbone, fishbone, or fishtail braid. Did this a few days after I worked out the french braid on myself.

As a little girl, I had very long hair. My mother adored it… but I grew to hate it because every morning I would wake up in a sea of tangles that she would insist on coming out (quite the painful process). I would whine and cry and wiggle around and eventually Mom said, “Fine. Guess you can just live with the tangles.” You can imagine how attractive that was, so I taught myself how to french braid to keep it under control.

Then, when I was 15 I was given permission to have my haircut. The very next day I had it cut all the way to my shoulders. I was overjoyed… Mom cried… I guess it was as if she was losing her little girl and gaining a young lady (and we all know how fun teenagers are to get along with). Every year after that it became shorter and shorter even to the point that I was sporting a pixie cut.

I decided I needed a change and decided to give my hair a chance to grow a bit. It hasn’t been this long in years. I was surprised to find out I can still work my fingers in such a way that a french braid emerges :)

Braided all my hair into about 8 or 9 separate braids, took them out the next morning :)

God I miss my box braids hair.
