My boss has many talents, the least of which is the ability to braid hair in many different ways. At a recent campaign meeting, she did these braids.
Suddenly I took out the scissors and showed you. I noticed how your breath stopped. I felt your fear. But your swollen fly said otherwise. I placed the braid between the sharp blades and ran it slowly down the length of my hair. You groaned, and I really liked it. But the time has come .. The blades slowly began to shrink at the very beginning of this beautiful, smooth braid .. Scary? Or exciting?
I love doing a french braid ponytail because it allows me to do a braid and still show the length of my hair.

To achieve this elegant and dramatic braided style, follow the steps below:
First shampoo hair with MIZANI Botanifying Shampoo which is great for cleansing but gentle enough to use every day as it cleanses the hair and scalp while restoring a natural moisture balance. Then rinse and gently towel blot dry before applying MIZANI Moisturfuse Conditioner which has natural oils and botanical ingredients that deeply moisturise dry hair.
Once the hair has been thoroughly rinsed and towel dried apply MIZANI Thermastrength Style Serum to the hair section by section. Thermastrength Style Serum is a botanically enriched, heat activated serum that protects from heat and helps improve the hair’s tensile strength. So it is great for blowdrying hair straight or using with thermal straighteners. Once the hair has been blow dried straight, secure it in a ponytail at the crown of the head with a band. It’s always best to use a smooth band to reduce breakage. Now apply MIZANI Shimmer Reflects Gel to the length of the ponytail before braiding it. Shimmer Reflects Gel is an alcohol free, medium hold gel that gives a non flaking hold which is essential to achieving this style. Then wrap the braid around the head securing to the head with grips. I still have the urge, so I've got a ton of timelapses with this view, from my back yard. I've just finished my antibiotics and I'm finally getting over a nasty bout of pneumonia. It's 'funny' all the 'little' things we take for granted every day. It's good to breathe easy!!! (or at least be close to it again)
I never got the name of this lovely lady, as her family, when interviewed, couldn't even count the number of kids they had. The lady in charge just looked up from the baby she was nursing, surprised at my question, and looked around her at the heaps and heaps of babies and young, dusty boys and then looked at me and shook her head.
Naming them all would have taken all day and a lot of effort.
This girl has beautiful braids, though, so now she is braid-girl. And a pretty necklace, partly made out of ancient pearls, which the Tamashek absolutely love. You can also see a pretty typical leather tent in the background. They color the leather red by rubbing ochre rocks against it, and the same rocks can incidentally be used as make-up, too! I was told that women color the skin under their eyes red when they menstruate. Sort of a "keep away" message, I suppose.
This girl's family are truly semi-sedentarized nomads, if that makes any sense to anyone. They spend most of the year in the town of Menaka (poor goats!), and move to walking distance outside of town during the cold season.

Chotlo, I really love some of the french braids that are in your photo stream. Some of the braids on Flickr look like works of art. I wish I could braid something more than a french or dutch braid...
