Normally, I am not a fan of this type of art, but then, she has #redhair , so, had too.
Artist: Nina Pandolfo
I do just want to say that I respect the talent of this artist, even if it might now fit my particular style...if that makes any sense.

The herringbone, fishbone, or fishtail braid. Did this a few days after I worked out the french braid on myself.
This braided stream is the effluent from part of the Katla Glacier seen in previous photos. The braided characteristic comes from the change in flow volume and velocity from peak melting of the glacier during the summer to less melting and flow as the weather becomes cooler. As a result of its higher flow in summer, the stream is able to transport coarser material, such as coarse gravel, cobbles and boulders. When flow diminishes, the coarse sediment is dropped and the stream develops multiple channels through the debris. The braiding is particularly evident here.
Another one of those gloomy, rainy times. Iceland.

As a little girl, I had very long hair. My mother adored it… but I grew to hate it because every morning I would wake up in a sea of tangles that she would insist on coming out (quite the painful process). I would whine and cry and wiggle around and eventually Mom said, “Fine. Guess you can just live with the tangles.” You can imagine how attractive that was, so I taught myself how to french braid to keep it under control.
Then, when I was 15 I was given permission to have my haircut. The very next day I had it cut all the way to my shoulders. I was overjoyed… Mom cried… I guess it was as if she was losing her little girl and gaining a young lady (and we all know how fun teenagers are to get along with). Every year after that it became shorter and shorter even to the point that I was sporting a pixie cut.
I decided I needed a change and decided to give my hair a chance to grow a bit. It hasn’t been this long in years. I was surprised to find out I can still work my fingers in such a way that a french braid emerges :)

Started pulling blue scraps from the scrap tote and braiding them together. I was thinking of oil slicks on the road when I began piecing them.

i decided to skip my yoga class today, even though i know i would have felt great afterwards, but it was just one more thing to do and it was stressing me out since i won't have free nights tomorrow or friday. i felt better as soon as i decided not to go. it's beautiful out, and i think we're going to eat dinner outside! things are looking up.
Well, I'm so disappointed because my shot was deleted from the group and nobody explain me why...
So, I think they don't want me on the group :(

Anyone out there know the secret to tucking in the end braid? I've tried with hairpins and bobby pins and it never stays in place.

My first ever tucked french braid. Not bad, but it could be better. I like a tucked in braid better but it's hard to keep it pinned in underneath.
last fall i found these braided headbands for over $12. i knew i could make one myself for practically free. so, i took some scraps from my fabric stash & braided them together. then- i stitched a band to the back.
perfect for adding a bit of color & cheering on spring!
