Also called shelf mushrooms, these fungi grow on wood, often with moss. This one has followed the edge of a cut log to form a vertical fairy ring.
There's a PDF doc online that walks one through the maintenance and repair of one piece crank Huffy bicycle bottom brackets: www.huffy.com/pdf/maintenancedocs/fad928e0-d861-43b2-9e3c...
'Organic' fluorescence from the spore-producing spored in a bracket fungus. The low-amplitude bumps are real spectral features in the flux-calibrated spectrum.
These are the Nuovo Record bottom bracket cups made for Nuovo Record "Road Double" cranksets. These are the so called "Thick" cups. Notice the spiral threads or "Rifling" inside the axle openings. These were cut in a specific orientation to expel any stray water while the bike pedaled in a forward direction.
For some odd reason these were NOT made for use with the Record Triple spindles for their Triple cranksets... For more logical reasons, they were also not intended for Track spindles - since the bikes could be presumed to be ridden exclusively indoors or at least on dry tracks.
The length of the center sections of the Nuovo Record spindles were shorter than those of the Record spindles to allow for the reduced overall width when the thicker "depth" of these cups were threaded into a bottom bracket shell.
These are a NEW set which I'd been saving... for a future full-campy French bike.

- used flash bracket from local camera store
- Ikea Tupperware
- random Hanimex TZ*2 flash
- ETTL flash extension cable off Ebay
- Canon 350D w/ 50mm F/1.8
The flash doesn't support ETTL, but I plan on getting a cheap flash that supports ETTL. Then this will be a very versatile flash setup. The flash has a three different "auto" settings that sometimes work and sometimes don't. The problem is the Tupperware casting weird shadows over the auto sensor, or being outside the distance range for some given auto setting.
This shot is taken two stops below proper exposure so that you can actually see the flash inside the Tupperware.

A high quality, attractive, light and durable part that could be applied to many products, and used as a stand for anything capable of having an 'r' shaped groove. The common silver anodization makes it very easy to match the colour on another product.

Went a bit of a fungus expedition near Pickering, came up with quite a collection. All on the Nikon D3 where the ISO versatility helps in the rather dark condityions and the trust5 manual 55mm f3.5 Ai Nikkor
For awhile I have been dreaming of a system like this. These camera/flash brackets were $8 each. I know it could have been just a strip of metal but it came with all the hardwear. For a while the dream came true!!!! I drop them in a bag as is and setup/down time is a breeze. But things are not as perfect as they may seem. At close distances they work like a charm!! It was not untill I started shoting sports (moto stuff) that this system started to fail. I had no idea what was going on!! How were my PWs failing me. I started doing my research and found That Canon flashes put out tons of RF (radio frequency) noise (@#$% Canon). I started doing Tests. I found the 430ex would stop triggering at about 30feet. The 580ex was hitting almost 45-50feet. But far from the 1300 or 1600 the the PWs are to trigger up to. I have read about shielding the flash but not interested in doing that. for now getting the PW away from my light will be the only thing I can do. (@#$% Canon). I will be testing this with other lights to see the distance I can get up to. I love these and will make them work!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Canon but I sure did not Go with Canon because of there lights!!!!
Has anyone else found problems like this ..... Comments welcome!!

Another toolbox bracket I whipped together tonight to go on the right hand side of the Mack to store more gear in.
Brackets are punctuation marks used in pairs to set apart or interject text within other text.
The shape of the covers follows the pattern or the shape of the pattern is given by the covers?
This is an experiment with the shape of my notebooks between form, functionality and aesthetics.
Aesthetics is commonly known as the study of sensory or sensori-emotional values, sometimes called judgments of sentiment and taste. So everything you can write in this notebook -your thoughts, sentiments, feelings or judgments -can be part of the same experiment in interrelation with the form and functionality of the (brackets) notebook.
The covers are made with the same materials, treatment and size than my previous notebooks.

Front cooling pipes all done, going to be toasty warm for the passenger!! Screen heater outlets still to weld on then we'll be fitting that when it arrives, front inner wing brackets to go on then on to the steering, it's somewhere handy but want to lift the rack ever so slightly.

I think these are the original support brackets for the bike path that were rejected for being too ugly. Now they are scrap. Sad face.

With Campagnolo push-on pump adaptor, Gran Sport bottom bracket and chainset. Under bottom bracket derailleur cables.
Here's the idea - I'll take the small form factor Dell keyboard, flip its back risers down, hook them over the shelf's raised lip, and rest the front on the bracket. Not quite sure at this point how I'll secure it, but it's already fairly sturdy. Just a little wobble.
Btw, that's a mini-mill plot in the background in EMC2, the Enhanced Motion Controller, running on Linux - specifically Ubuntu, The Dapper Drake 6.06. The crap plotted on the screen isn't very useful to look at. I had the Y hooked up to the rotary table, so the red line is plotting both the spinning of the rotary table, and moving of the tool in and out against it (I'm working on making a tiny custom dovetail end mill for some plastic work).
I know as much about fungus as David Cameron knows about living on the breadline.
However, this looks good enough to eat and would make a decent omelette with an Ostrich egg and 1/2lb of diced, smokey bacon.
