I've rescued several box turtles from the highway over the years. I usually just let them go in the back yard. When I see a box turtle in the yard I wonder whether it's one I found on the road or whether it just wandered in from somewhere.
Monticello Box on the southwestern side of the San Mateo Mountains, Socorro County, New Mexico, 10 Apr 2005.
This fabric box was constructed for me by quilter Jan Zietlow, in Boulder, Montana,
from fabrics I chose. I like that it's "a different kind of box." Each side of the triangular
top measures 5.5 inches and the box stands 3.75 inches tall closed.

This beautiful boxed caliper set by AM Radio can be seen in the barn at The Refuge and The Expansion.

Boxes of parts travel by conveyor (top/background) to a box shaker for settling, and then onto the warehouse. There appears to have been a delay that's causing a small traffic jam.
Bay Bread opened a new location out in North Beach. After eating Greek food, I dragged Eric to Stella but they were closed. So we walked on further to Bay Bread and low and behold - they still had some macarons left!

This is a former Air Mail box - now used for ordinary mail. Before the war this was painted light blue and had a second plate on the front giving details of air mail rates.

One of the most romantic gifts, I've ever seen! My little boy loves turning the handle and listening to it while we're reading a bedtime story for him! So cute!
