Prototype fiducial marker boxes.

Based on rate changes, this stamp keeper box dates from sometime between 1963 and 1968. I think it was probably a promotional item based on the small "National Chemsearch" text on the front of the box. It was definitely designed for desktop storage. The lid hinges up to reveal four compartments for holding stamps and a rate guide on the inside of the lid.

Box turtles live a long time and are very vulnerable to getting run over and having humans carry them away and release them in unfamiliar territory where they're unlikely to survive.

This telephone box, with no phone or anything, made a spooky impact on me. Made me think of science fiction movies. A time machine? The box used in Matrix?

Wooden box with a wood cut of South America on it. Not sure if it was made there or not. Taken with a Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 50mm 3.5 on an extension tube, on a Canon SL1 camera.

This sealed box was at the Butlins resort in Minehead. As can be seen the aperture has a steel plate over it - but someone (not me!) has bent the plate at the side. I posted a card in this box to myself on the day I took this photo on Easter Saturday 23 April 2011. I received the card on Saturday 2 June 2012 :)

Hallmarked.

Box 40 has gained new replica blinds similar to those it carried in the 1960s. Ironically in Fleetwood Tramroad days it didn't have blinds at all!

No Box is Safe! With all the reorganizing and unpacking we've been doing lately, we have found we have our own personal box inspector aka Katie. No matter the size, she has had to christen each with a nap. This is the box that my new wireless keyboard & mouse came in. I removed it from the box and she immediately climbed in.

There's something very appealing about the 'customised' post boxes of London?!

Spray-painted a mountain-infested craft box to give A+L for Christmas so they'll stop swiping all my tape and glue. Filled it with every craft item known to man, then Lauren added to it with a fab selection of drawing+painting booty.

I think this is one of those boxes restaurants put in front with their menu inside. However, the glass is long gone and the cork board is rotting away. The rocks in the bottom are a recent addition this week. I've always been drawn to this for some reason. I took some pictures of it last year when it had wires sticking out but I wasn't that happy with them. I added "fake bokeh" using Photoshop in an attempt to make this shot more interesting. Unfortunately, I'm still not that excited about it. Hopefully I'll find a better shot tomorrow.

I should say so. Box in the undergrowth next to the canal at Glasson.
