The Border Patrol Foundation held its 7th Annual Border Patrol Recognition Dinner on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC.
My camera team and I journeyed down to the U.S. Mexican border and, over a period of several months, interviewed Border Patrol agents, illegal immigrants, Minutemen, politicians, representatives of the ACLU and local ranchers to make a realistic assessment of just how porous our border had become.

This was funny - There was some shooting going off to the left on the moor - Mist hates anything that 'bangs' so was listening to make sure whatever it was wasn't coming any closer, Elk on the other hand had her eyes rivetted on a bunch of cows that were slowly approaching from the right ..... it's all about the getting right priorities!

Every day before sunset, thousands of Indians and a smattering of foreign tourists pour into the Indian BSF (Border Security Force) region at the Attari-Wagah joint check post (JCP) to watch the ceremonial lowering of the Indian flag. Fortunately, everyone knows their place, and the guards don’t need to say anything twice.

Even the Ensete here is an annual. The hot growing season here is at most 4 months long, not long enough for the plant to mature and flower. But it looks great as a focus plant in a border!

This is the northernmost land internatinal border crossin in North America. It is on the Top of the World Highway between Alaska and the Yukon. It is called "Poker Creek Alaska" and "Gold Creek Yukon". Despite the indication of the sign, we are crossing back into Alaska. They have a nice little caribou stamp for your passport.
The green building to the right is used by both nation's customs agents.
