The Border Patrol Foundation held its 7th Annual Border Patrol Recognition Dinner on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC.
Looking over the border into Algeria. The southern and western edge of the large dune field in centre ground is on the Algerian side of the border. We crossed the border leaving Libya and entered Algeria and rounded the southern tip of this dune field (the right hand end of these dunes) and then drove eastwards across the Takharkhouri (Sebkha) heading back towards the Libyan border and on towards the Takharkhouri Pass - the southern gateway into the Tadrart Acacus.

After the attack on the Government building, the killed embedded agent was found to be a member of a neighboring country’s special intelligence division, and although these two nations used share a strong alliance, they were now at odds, as the neighboring country was proven to be supporting the current uprising within the nation, presumably to help facilitate a puppet government to take power in order to strengthen their grip on the east. Because of this political tension, the two nations were preparing for war. shutting their borders and mobilizing artillery units- whose sights were aimed at the one country that they considered an ally. Things were different now, and getting worse.

This was funny - There was some shooting going off to the left on the moor - Mist hates anything that 'bangs' so was listening to make sure whatever it was wasn't coming any closer, Elk on the other hand had her eyes rivetted on a bunch of cows that were slowly approaching from the right ..... it's all about the getting right priorities!
You know which country you are by looking at the lights. Important issue, because Russians are still more than heavyhanded in border violations. That is why Norwegian army is watching even kayakers making 5 meter errors, for their own good.
Even the Ensete here is an annual. The hot growing season here is at most 4 months long, not long enough for the plant to mature and flower. But it looks great as a focus plant in a border!

We went across in Northern Idaho, in both directions and up a considerable grade, a swath of trees had been removed to denote the border.
I love the way this border looks full-sized. This is just one of the corners viewed large. It looks like singed and burned paper.

First time in Manitoba - I've lived by it my entire life, but never crossed the border. That makes me 10/10 when it comes to Canadian provinces.

hoping to make it back one day. No documents, no communication with their families in the USA.
