I was having trouble getting a good photo of our Christmas lights when the idea hit me to focus (or lose focus) on the lights on the Christmas tree

2014-01-18: Spending days packing up an apartment doesn't leave too many opportunities to get out and shoot, so here is the chandelier, probably the last thing to be moved.

Couldn't resist one last bokeh shot before the end of Christmas.

My Baby bought me some Whiskey today, first time that happens, had to celebrate that with a bokeh! ;)

Another image from Saturday's Worldwide Photowalk in Lakeland, FL ...

Water splashing down the tri-level fountain at Munn Park in downtown Lakeland makes all kinds of interesting patterns.

Thank you all for hanging in with me, in spite of my inability to respond - you all are the best of Flickr. A little story to share that is emblematic of where we are as a country right now - yesterday a lady came in to interview for the job in my room. I guess she was maybe late 40's or early 50's and I asked her about her background. She replied education, so of course I asked what level. I almost keeled over at her reply - she has just finished getting her Master's, took out a second mortgage on their home to pay for it and now there is no work. She is reduced to looking for work in day care. Yikes. I do this, even tho I have a degree in biology, for many reasons, but to be faced with that?? How awful and how very discouraging. Poor lady. And of course, she is now facing that dilemma - will anyone hire her because she is so over-qualified and they fear she will leave as soon as something better comes along. Probably not while she is desperate. How sad ....

Happy Bokeh Wednesday to all - I will be happy to see this week end as it has been busier than I ever dreamed!! :-(

I used my new lens here - I really like the smooth bokeh (Pentax DA 55mm f1.4)

I didn't realize right away but when I went home to view the pictures, I notice that a tiny spider was hiding behind one of those lights. If you zoom in you can see part of its legs and a little bit of web.

bokeh off the wall.
