Block Island...this is where we took part of my husbands ashes - I went to our favorite place with my children and we spent the weekend in November on Jerry's birthday...it was a clear beautiful Fall day ~ we cried a lot and the process continues...

I'm going to turn this one into a doll quilt for my soon-to-be 3 year-old niece :).

This block was fun to make and I appreciated the extra challenge of the star within the star.

Ken Block was drifting his 650 PS Ford Focus so close and fast by the audience, it was just insane! Very impressive show.

Starting to make some progress here. I'm trying to aim for 2 blocks a day, which means I'll finish all the blocks i want by the end of Febuary.
I don't want to finish them all now, because I think I'm going to be making a bunch more, new, colorful scraps for the Curves Class, and I want to use them in this quilt!
This block is approximately 6x6, signed, numbered and made to hang...or place...or use as a coaster. Whatever you see fit. Cheap and lookin' for a good home.
You can look in the "art?" set and see more. Once sold however, I delete them.

I finally got Lilylemons' block started for this month... As you can see, I decided to practice my applique again! I think (hope) it will turn out cute! I've taken a pattern from one of the fabrics... This will be my tribute block to our group, "Blocks of a Feather", even though there are no feathers on this critter ;-)
Blocking off Bay St, you'd be surprised how many dummies tried to drive past the two cop cars as if the barricades and the cruisers were not there!!
The boys in front of an old rusted out block house. Not sure what they used this for, but its on the Chybinski Loop as we headed up towards the Bullet Homestead.
I think probably the building was not painted intentionally to resemble a partly cloudy daytime sky with high diffuse clouds? It just faded unevenly to that condition, right?

Block 8 facade damaged by US Army artillery in November 1944. At this time the fort was garrisoned by German forces.
I'm a terrible person for taking so dang long with this block and I sincerely apologize. There's really no reason to be so slow; my only defenses are that I just moved and still haven't really unpacked and also just started working full time and commuting. Regardless, here it is and I hope it goes well with your idea for your quilt!!

Block 10 was a cellblock at the Auschwitz Concentration Camp where women and men were used as experimental subjects for German doctors. The experiments in Block 10 ranged from skin testing for reaction to relatively gentle substances to giving phenol injections to the heart for immediate dissection.
Although Block 10 was in the men's camps, the experiments conducted were mostly for women.
