Very old concrete-block building with metal trim. Maybe it's left from the "fireproof" craze of the 1800s.
A lock hangs off the odd metal shed that's been pushed onto the front of the building.
This appliquéd block is for Linda. She provided the fabric (Origins by Basic Grey) and asked us to design a block based on Sarah Fielke's "Out the Window" pattern in her book, Material Obsession.

By 28 September 2006, the block had been excavated and the next job in the queue was the site survey to peg out the site in readiness for the concreters to come in and put down the footings for the new house.
Surveyors came and pegged out the site on October 6 2006 and again on October 11 2006 due to a slight mix up in locating the exact boundary of my property.
