For this quarter of the 3x6 bee bellsbellsjo asked for blocks for an eye spy quilt for her son. I aimed not to repeat any of the prints I used and added some cool solids to keep the block from being too busy.

I made this block (and my test block) early and didn't realize until after I sent it that I had cut the white strips 1/2" too wide. Nonetheless I think it's a fun block.

The block is based on the technique in Oh Fransson's Mod Mosaic Floor Pillow.

Block 48

I don't know the real name of this, It sits in front of a residence that has been converted into offices. I call it the block parent. You don't see them much anymore but homes used to have "Block House" signs in the windows so children would have safe havens in case they ran into trouble in the neighborhood. Driving by, today, with our spectacular sunshine, the light played on it beautifully. I will learn more in the future.
