Cutest and so gentle... Elephants are considered very auspicious in India... and their blessings taken with fear and reverence. If only they were treated with this respect!... (This elephant was very playfull.. but a bit irritated i guess, photo taken from Sringeri temple, Karnataka... and apperaed to be treated properly)

we share this planet are important to us, to God, and we are blessed by their
presence in our lives.
We wanted to go to a flea market at a shrine. The only one happening during our stay was at Goryo-jinja. Except it was festival day, so instead of bargain hunting, we ended up festival watching. It's one of the most good natured festivals I've been to in Japan, and felt properly local.
