This year Wesak (or Vesak) Day falls on 1st May 2007.
The exact date of Vesak is defined according to the astrological calendar, as the time of the full moon in May, which corresponds to the birth, enlightenment and the passing away of Gautama Buddha.
Taken on the 10,064 ft. peak of Mt San Antonio (Mt. Baldy). The battered nature of the prayer flags seemed consistent with the idea that they spread blessings on the winds.
Another version from further back with all but blue & yellow desaturated is posted here. farm1.static.flickr.com/221/510305808_2cef8bae73_o.jpg
