I bought this little treat last weekend while on my way to dropping off some cards to sell
at a store in Lakeview. We just happened to drive past this fabulous bakery on our way over. I think it is pretty safe to say that this was heavenly.

I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to any art work that I do, so the fact that I'm holding the picture a little to low bothers me, but I'm going to just let it go. :)

Native to Japan, Bleeding Hearts are excellent perennial for the shade garden and they are very attractive with their light transparent green colour, deeply divided and fern like foliage and blooms are borne on arching flower stems above the foliage.
On Belmont. I've heard they make tasty items, but have not sampled any myself - don’t have much of a sweet tooth.
One could make jokes about “punk rock pastry”, and spitting, but I don’t think that’s their intent.

This bleeding heart plant thrives in early spring and summer. I planted it about 6 years ago when we moved into our house. It's getting HUGE, just popped out a couple of weeks ago. More pics to follow of it probably, maybe some macros with my kit lens. The flowers are intentionally out of focus, having fun with dof.
