In my garden 134/365 My sons gave me this plant 25 years ago. I transplanted it when we moved here. It does fantastic in the new spot. I'm happy to see it every spring.

Homalanthus populifolius is the Australian Bleeding Heart Tree also known as the Queensland Poplar. Photographed in Sydney.
I love when the camera captures things I missed with the naked eye, like the condensation in the white part of this bleeding heart blossom--so cool!
One of the plants in the front yard. A flower with great color and shape.
Taken with my old Rokkor-X lens on the Sony a6000.
This very odd Spring has produced some very odd blooming habits. The bleeding hearts are still producing the occasional flowers. Even today, on this second day of Summer I see a few more out there. Too bad it is rainy and cold, not ideal for taking the camera into the garden.
I moved to a new community last summer. Now that spring is here, I had to seek out new bleeding hearts to photograph. What would spring be without them? I found them in the local park that Janice and I visit most.

"Goldfinch Bleeding Heart" by Patti Deters. A yellow Goldfinch clings to the stem of a bleeding heart while the rest of the flock flits and plays in the cherry trees in the background. This painterly scene is a composite from several photos of these songbirds from my own backyard - and the flowers are from my own garden. "I'm bleeding out
Said if the last thing that I do
Is to bring you down
I'll bleed out for you
So I bear my skin
And I count my sins
And I close my eyes
And I take it in
And I'm bleeding out
I'm bleeding out for you"
-Imagine Dragons
My emotions are bleeding out of me all the time. Sometimes they are constant sometimes not. If you really knew what I was thinking, then you would truly know how I feel about everything in this world. Songs inspire me to take photographs and make them. I used red thread to signify blood in my own way.
