The Bleeding-Heart Dove gets this name from a splash of vivid red colour at the centre of their white breasts. On first sight it is hard to believe that the bird has not recently been wounded. This odd plumage is presumed to be for display purposes.

But I don't care what they say

I'm in love with you

They try to pull me away

But they don't know the truth

My heart's crippled by the vein

That I keep on closing

You cut me open and I

Bleeding Tooth in Doncaster at Doncaster Social Bar

Complete with raindrops captured in my garden this morning.

First conceptual photography i have ever done. I waited and waited for that little droplet to fall but it never did. The red poster colour i use was a little too thick i guess.

One week ago this plant was only 3 or 4 inches tall, today it is not only tall, but blossoming.

A graceful troop of flowers lines a branch of a Bleeding Hearts plant (Dicentra spectabilis).

I think you've all heard that polaroid is stopping its film production this year. ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hypuKMBTWl0-MwyZgWCT-M9OQuywD...

i don't know if this will change anything, but at least we can beg fuji to continue the production of the polaroid instant film:

i'm so sad about this.

The Bleeding Hearts that we planted in the garden at the front of the house finally provided us with blossoms this year. I wanted a image to remember this by and as I got down to ground level I noticed the wonderful back light being provided by the setting sun. I decided to take full advantage of the situation and enhanced it a bit to get this dramatic image.

Dainty hearts hanging all in a row, these are one of my favorite flowers in our garden...

This was a last minute order from a bride who couldn't find anyone in the Portland area to make her an armadillo cake. I am a HUGE fan of the armadillo cake so I happily took no the project. The bride was so excited to see the cake she said "HOLY SH*T!! that is AMAZING!!!" when I brought it in and proceeded to take mass amounts of photos on her phone. Now that is what I call a good reaction :-D

Spring must be here, the Bleeding Hearts are blooming!

They are diviing together!

A few Bleeding Hearts poke their heads up next to Ponytail Falls.

It's been quite a few years since I've seen the Bleeding Hearts so when I saw these I was really surprised.. These are small but I was happy to see them...

Founds these growing on the grounds at the Biltmore - have a blessed TGIF :) !~

I find the graceful curves of the stems as interesting as the flowers against the green background.

Beautiful flowers that are not the easiest thing to photograph when it's a windy day : ) Taken at Reader Rock Garden on June 8th.

Our hearts are with you, Linda (wife of Jim Dubois, flickr member Garnite, who passed away just a few weeks ago).
