Painting (and "message") for Blank Canvas Festival.
www.facebook.com/blankcanvaslv
The painting is located in Gaujas iela 5, RIGA, Latvia 2014.
I didn't like much the wall which was proposed to me but i defenetly liked the area. The piece is situated in the yard of "Brasalona", an evolving artistical and technical complex :
Quote from their FB page :
" Brasalona is an evolving space at Gaujas street which is already the home of The Artists’ Union of Latvia gallery "Art", Latvian music label "Dirty Deal Audio", "Rīgas Darbnīca" that popularizes the use of recycled materials in the creation of design and practical objects and also Brasalona is the home of other creative initiative authors. I really have nothing more to say about this shot...wanted to try a blank background, and a white wall was as close I could possibly get to that. It was just a day I felt inspired, probably because it was the last week of my holidays. Also I'm in love with the mask, and have wanted to take a shot with it for a while. Maybe I should make a series wit it? Never have tried making a series of photos based on a single idea... (Personally I wish I could do a 365 project even...but there is simply no time :( )
I know I should have something more to say about this photo, maybe a story, but I'm not going to force it out of myself.
19/365
I feel like I'm so immersed in this already, and I'm only up to day 19! Yes, I did take some time off over the second semester, but I still can't believe how much further I have to go, and how much of a better photographer I'll be when I finish.
Today's photo was inspired by something I've been thinking about lately while I try to come up with ideas to shoot each day. Some days I will have the opportunity to photograph another person for my 365. Most days it will be me, but damned if it's going to be the same person in every single photo. It's easy enough to see who I am. Now I want to show you who I can be.
"…To me, who seeks the company of prostitutes all the time, spending on them whatever little money I earn by bestowing lavish praises on men who lack wisdom, who never pray to Your holy feet, who are dunces, who indulge in devilish activities and who have no sense of gratitude; pray Muruga, grant me Moksha (from all this)".

Windermere is the largest natural lake in England, part of the Lake District in Cumbria, England and fed by the River Brathay, River Rothay, Cunsey Beck, and Trout Beck. It is a ribbon lake formed in a glacial trough after the retreat of ice at the start of the current interglacial. .
