Must see large on black!
Created for Hypothetical Awards Digital Art from a Blank Canvas challenge and for Sliders Sunday (hope it's okay that I began with a blank canvas instead of a photo!).
This all started when I "discovered" a Photoshop tool called the Mixer Brush which allows you to blend brush strokes with varying degrees of "wetness." The image in the first comment box below shows what I created using this tool alone. (For the Star Trek fans among you, the working title at this point was "The Trouble With Tribbles" :-).)
Several filters and blend layers later, the image morphed into what you see above.
:: I sat in amazement, the translucence that comes when life hardens into a bead of such cruel perfection you see it with the purest clarity. Everything suddenly there--life as it truly is, enormous, appalling, devastating. You see the great sinkholes it makes in people and the harrowing lengths to which love will go to fill them :: Sue Monk Kidd
We are intentionally not wifi & the internet connecting plug of my computer has been out of work since after Christmas, it will probably be repaired this week, but meanwhile my best wishes to you all for this new year starting. May it be a happy healthy & creative one for you all, and thank you for the inspiration you keep having flowing here...
The extremely talented artist Ray Lonsdale created Blank Canvas in 2012, which was commissioned as part of the three and a half million pound eco village by Gentoo at South Bank. The sculpture has been made from cor-ten steel which has already weathered to a lovely "rusty" finish.
I've been feeling rather blank lately...unable to find the motivation to try to create anything. I finally pushed myself to create something...anything...I started this picture with just the intent of making a human look like a blank canvas...but, as I began my edit, something else altogether emerged. I finally felt inspired and enjoyed the process of creation.
I consistently experience an ebb and flow in my feeling of worth as an artist. Sometimes, though, I forget that inspiration isn't magic...it is a synonym for effort.
Created for TMI's "13" challenge and for the Hypothetical Awards' 2nd Annual ~ ARTYfishal artyFISHES ~ Underwater Art Challenge.
Created from a blank canvas.
Each fish painting (all done in Photoshop using a mouse) is based on a fish found in nature. Of course you would never find this assortment of fish all in the same environment since some are salt water and others fresh water dwellers. Nevertheless, they live happily together in my ichthyological fantasy ;-).
This is a moment

Thank you for commenting previously. Please, only offer subjective criticism when I ask for it (unless you are Mike Walsh, Scott Martin, and a few others who know how to tease ;) Thank you.

All elements of this design were created by me, except for one image of an old Brazilian newspaper used as a texture.
Sorry, I haven't been much of a contact lately....I'm still here...just busy...and taking a little Flickr break. :o)))

I really appreciate your comments and faves. I'm not a hoarder of contacts, but enjoy real-life, honest people. You are much more likely to get my comments and faves in return if you fit the latter description. Just sayin. :oD
