Philadelphia Museum of Art. The two youths were chasing each other around the South side of the museum on this particular morning. Here is one catching her breath while the other flies overhead.
could not believe my luck on the way to titchwell with this lovely kite in the very early morning sun in a tree right beside me
This Eagle, and all following bird photo's were taken at the "Birds of Prey" Avian Center in Awendaw, South Carolina. This organization does a fantastic job rehabbing these raptors and eventually releasing them back into the wild.http://www.thecenterforbirdsofprey.org/
The morning is young and so is this snowy owl. Like so many of the snowy owls that fly to extreme southerly points during irruptions, this one is a juvenile. Young snowy owls have characteristic heavy barring that is missing almost altogether in adult males and with much less intensity in adult females. This season has seen a large number of these beautiful birds move south. Enjoy them but try your best not to disturb them. #SnowyOwls
Here is another shot with the super zoom lens showing off her curves. This female Northern Harrier let me get very close for these shots. Now I just need a photo of the males.
Sunnyvale, CA. Two local cooper`s hawks are nesting in the neighborhood and spending a lot of time in the trees near the streets, providing some excellent views for passerbys.
It's 12mths since I was taking pics of a family of 6 Ospreys in Hyannis, great sight to see them at close range, with their nest platform next to a public carpark flying about above😊.No such adventures this year😐
Osprey watching me shoot pictures of him. It's eye was piercing right through me! They are not afraid of humans at all so you can get much closer to one than a hawk. Kept waiting for it to grab a fish but after an hour, we gave up and then as soon as we did, of course, it grabbed a fish and flew away! lol

Something a little different this past weekend, I did not take a single photos. I had to search though my archives to come up with a photo to post.
I had quite the busy and fun weekend as it started out by being invited (John and Laura) down to Saugatuck for a sunset boat cruise and dinner and Ice cream. The sunset was a bust but time with friends was wonderful. Saturday morning/afternoon Denny and I played in a pickle ball tournament in Lake Odessa. We made it all the way to the gold medal match but lost two games to one and took home the silver. Then Saturday evening Kari and I went out to dinner in Holland and more Ice cream with Denny, Brenda, Terry and Marcia. Very good time talking and eating dinner with friends.
Sunday morning I usually take a walk through Grand Ravines North Park with Lee but Kari thought that we should take an early morning walk with Tucker before church, so no photography in the park that morning. But we did have a lovely walk together and it was a great way to start a Sunday morning. After church I attempted to play a little more pickle ball with Joe, Nate and Bruce but the rain came in as we were just ready to start. Then in the evening my daughter Monica and her soon to be husband Kody came over for chips and cheese. Had a very nice time with them just sitting on the front porch talking.
So after a long weekend I sat on the front porch by myself with my camera bag ready to go do the sunset only to see thick clouds roll in and blanket the sun.
Even though no photos were taken this weekend, I would have to admit it was still a great weekend.
Philadelphia Museum of Art. This second year hawk was hopping around various perches behind the museum at dawn. Eventually he flew upriver, toward the zoo. Meanwhile T4 sat on one of the East-facing Griffins. Oblivious?

One from the archives - Dec 2019 at the Ravines. I need to get me some Eagle shots this weekend.
The Kestrel pair are resting and observing from aloft our goose nesting platform. A vantage point that suits them well. My favorite little hunters.
It is mouse for dinner. This handsome young guy ( I believe) landed about 20 feet from my Jeep just after sunset and downed a mouse in seconds. I was parked with my Jeep off when this guy flew to the ground for his catch but this large rock was right there and blocked part of the view of him with the mouse in his feet. I am happy with what I got :)
