Red-shouldered Hawk checking out his meal 50 feet below

Went out to Kensington to see what was going on during our first Snow storm of the season. One of the pair of Eagles that have been hanging around was back at the Heron rookery. Quite a contrast to the shots I took just two days ago. I had to put the Cherokee in 4wd on the way home. We got about 8 inches!!

Flew up to a nearby tree where this vole was devoured. Right after that he nailed another one in the same spot.

marsh harrier from lakenheath

This juvi and his sibling had been sitting for a while apparently waiting for mom or dad to return with lunch. When mom landed in the nest with a small fish this juvi began walking down the branch towards the nest "whining" the whole way. I guess he was letting mom know that he was REALLY hungry...

This raptor is the most skittish character. I chased it from one end to another end back to where I started. Sun was extremely hot hot hot. Its about 3.5km walk later I got this shot.

Whilst walking around Horsbere Brook Ponds (near Gloucester) this Kestrel was flying & hovering for some time giving me a chance to get some photos.

This was our second encounter with this bird during our trip to BRT Tiger Reserve. The first time when we saw it, I couldn’t click a pic, as I was driving and it was a race with time to reach the camp on time to be able to catch the safari. But the image got frozen in my memories forever. It sat in the middle of the road with a kill, the skin all ripped off of the prey. We were awestruck, then it flew with just a few flaps with push by its powerful wings. The prey, though dead, moved as if it was a thick rope hanging in air, giving true sense to its name, The Serpent Eagle. Had penned down this amazing experience in my blog for K Gudi Wilderness Camp review!

I Guess it was my Lucky day as well as His ;-)

3 year old female Snowy Owl hunting

Looking for some help with ID on this one. Not sure if it is a whistling kite or maybe a square tailed kite. Either way, it was remarkably tame sitting quietly at the river edge, allowing me to get within a few metres.

Juvenile Turkey Vulture

I don't have a large long lens but was able to make this passable (at least to me 😉).

I think it was once a grasshopper or stick insect. Anzac Parade, Middle Point, NT.
