This juvenile Bald Eagle was much more co-operative than the mature eagles. Take a look at those talons... they don't look too juvenile to me!

Taken at Fleetwood Tramday Flyde Coast Lancashire.

Osprey watching me shoot pictures of him. It's eye was piercing right through me! They are not afraid of humans at all so you can get much closer to one than a hawk. Kept waiting for it to grab a fish but after an hour, we gave up and then as soon as we did, of course, it grabbed a fish and flew away! lol

Birds are amazingly adapted for life in the air. The Red-tailed Hawk is one of the largest birds you’ll see in North America, yet even the biggest females weigh in at only about 3 pounds. A similar-sized small dog might weigh 10 times that.

had a look at lackford today and the marsh harrier was mobile but distant

still around but not doing a lot of fishing

It rained on Christmas Day for the first time I can ever remember in Minnesota. This adult bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) was slightly soggy, but wore it well.
