Bird of prey

Mom came in fast and low as she delivered the fish she caught to the nest in the stiff breeze. She had to execute a sharp, steep bank to bleed of speed caused by the 20+ MPH wind at her back. I caught this on just as she started her turn.

This juvenile bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) scared the heck out of a flock of ducks that were wading in the swamp below. Note the eagle's color scheme, and compare with an adult.
