One of the most photogenic creatures I've had the pleasure to come across. He sat patiently while I tried to get a shot of him in challenging light. Thank you Mr. Owl.
I was trying to some more shots of my little Red Squirrel buddy when this hawk swooped in an laded on my porch railing, not much doubt what he was after as my feeders are right there, unfortunately my presence probably ruined his hunt!
A birthday treat from my wife - a day out with Wildlife photographer Alan Hewitt alanhewittphotography.co.uk/ and birds from Andy Howey's Bird of Prey Centre; Haggerston Castle, Northumberland. Photo-Set www.harrisonaphotos.co.uk/Landscapes/Birds-of-Prey-2018/

Last images for a while. An idiot drove into me yesterday and wrote my car off. I had to be cut out and I've been left with a compressed spinal cord, OUCH!!! Just like Arnie though, I'll be back.
Had the most awesome day at Claire Carter and Hawkeye Bird of Prey Photography Workshop in Thoresby Park. A privilege to get close to such beautiful birds and I learned such a lot about bird photography that I hope I can put in to practice in future. My photos (just a few here out of 100s I took today) are pale imitations of what is achievable but I'm happy with (some of) my efforts with limited kit.
Our annual visit to the Widnes Show where Ray displays his BMW in the vintage motorcycle section. All the usual attractions were there, including classic vehicles, fairground rides. steam engines, stalls, reptiles, birds of prey, and Mr Alexander the magician.
Events like this always remind me of Half Man Half Biscuit's song, 'Fun Day in the Park'
"I saw posters all around town
Fun day in the park, bring the family down
Bric-a-brac, puppet show, fire engine, steam train
Face painting, mask making, falconry, tombola,
Climbing wall, cake stall, hook-a-duck, candy floss, balloons
Punch and Judy, Shetland ponies, hot dog, beat the goalie
Soft play area with free bananas
Iguana Andy and his iguanas
Jousting, hoopla, ghost train, pedal cars
Quad bikes, stunt kites, sundries and much much more
For further enquiries ring this number
I rang it and asked about the much much more
I was greeted with awkward silence
They had lied to me
They had lied to me on their posters"
