It was an amazing surprise when this Marsh Harrier dropped in. We had been hoping for a Sea Eagle but this was a great substitute.

The northern goshawk is capable of considerable, sustained, horizontal speed in pursuit of prey with speeds of 38 mph (61 km/h) reported. ... Kills are normally consumed on the ground by juvenile or non-breeding goshawks (more rarely an elevated perch or old nest) or taken to a low perch by breeding goshawks.

Have you ever tried walking on corn stubble? It can be tricky. Perhaps not if you're a Snowy Owl.

Watched this little fella hunting along the Humber Estuary bank a few weeks back .. relentless 🐁

The Harris hawk or Harris's hawk is unique amongst the raptors for hunting in family groups. This co-operative behaviour allows it to capture larger prey than would otherwise be possible.

Found from the southwestern United States down to Chile and central Argentina, Harris hawks are medium to large birds of prey with dark brown and chestnut plumage and a white-tipped tail. They occupy sparsely covered habitats including semi-desert, woodlands, marshlands and mangroves. Some individuals are sighted in Britain; however these are likely to be escapees from falconry, a purpose for which they are one of the most popular hawks.

They are extremely swift, and can reach maximum air speed of 320 kilometers (200 miles) per hour!

Golden eagles have large eyes that take up most of the space of the eagle’s head. Their keen eyes can see clearly and in color, allowing the eagle to spot movement from a long distance.

Their eyes don’t move much in the eye socket, but an eagle can rotate its head about 270 degrees, just like an owl can, to look around.

Quite a character...she took a huff and decided she didnt want to display for a while...

Love watching the fledges, so entertaining. An airplane was flying overhead, and they all watched it, maybe wondering if it was good to eat. Click to enlarge

Who could say from this picture️ that fearless birds like Ospreys 🐦can also fall prey?
