I've always found birds of paradise to be one of the most anthropomorphable flowers. This is typical of what happens in my brain when I look at them. It's also typical of what happens when I have too much time on my hands.

Cool flowers... dont know if its the flower or its name that sparks my interest.

Hubby gave me her for a Mother s Day gift and this year she has really Blooomed...

Dark sided flycatcher in typical manner of “explanation of a flycatcher” that catches fly or other harmful insects by watching from its perch momentarily- the speed, parabola, size of insect and the air current direction and making its precise move to catch it mid air.

Insect has almost zero chance once locked in the mind, eye and muscle coordination of flycatcher.

Birds are nature’s best pest controllers.

Waves from a Flower Filled Float

Indian pitta (Pitta brachyura), native to the Indian subcontinent, is a passerine bird . It derives its name from Telugu Word Pitta which means small bird. It inhabits scrub jungle, deciduous and dense evergreen forest. It breeds in the forests of the Himalayas, hills of central and western India, and migrates to other parts of the peninsula in winter. Although very colourful (in Hindi it is called Norang), it is usually shy and hidden in the undergrowth where it picks insects on the forest floor. It has a distinctive two note melodious whistling call which is heard at dawn and dusk.
