When I was young I used to eat these. I was kinda weird...
Native to South Africa, the birdbirdparawholeplant.jpg (105717 bytes) of paradise is a large tropical herb that is a member of Musaceae or the banana family.
This lovely red rose was a Mother's Day gift from Hubby ...all of a sudden she is so Glamours with so many blooms.... and surprise.. an early Iris.....early in my yard ...others are more march time ...though we have been having very odd weather 50s one day 70's then 90's very weird...

A detail of a bird of paradise. If I had time I would lighten the dark part of the flower on the bottom. I took down the highlights, but it could use more (or less) of that as well. But I like the colors and the swirls.
This rose has so many lovely colors...so fun to see reds,coral apricot,yellow orange...stunning
