These bird-of-paradise flowers seem to be full of joy in the bright evening sun.

The Black swan (Cygnus atratus) is one of the most distinctive swan species and one of the most easily recognized with its bold plumage and colorful bill. Black swans are endemic to Australia but have been introduced in many areas as ornamental birds in parks, gardens, zoos and aviaries. While black swans do not migrate, they are nomadic to follow food sources and adequate water.

The mute swan (Cygnus olor) is a member of the waterfowl family Anatidae. It is native to much of Europe and Asia, and (as a rare winter visitor) the far north of Africa. It is an introduced species in North America, Australasia and southern Africa. This large swan is wholly white in plumage with an orange bill bordered with black. It is recognizable by its pronounced knob atop the bill, which is larger in males.

I saw these swans at Birds of Eden Sanctuary at Plettenberg Bay in South Africa.

The common kingfisher also known as the Eurasian kingfisher and river kingfisher.

First time came back to the local greenhouse after three long years due to the pandemic. What greeted me was this beautiful Bird of Paradise near the entrance! You know the feeling...

A variety of heliconia or false bird of paradise. The central highlands of Colombia is a cloud forest environment; they grow some of the finest coffee in the world, but it also offers one of the most diverse ecosystems. Every type of tropical plant that likes moist conditions will thrive here.

Strelitzia reginae is very popular as an ornamental plant. Common names such as “crane flower” and “bird of paradise” reference the open flower’s resemblance to the head and beak of a colourful exotic bird.

The title is George's idea of a joke because a couple years ago I posted a very similar picture the difference being the painter was a young woman. You can see that picture in the comments below.

On a walk in the neighborhood we passed by some bird of paradise flowers.

I took this backlight shot with a Wollensak 3" 1:0.9X Oscillo Raptar 75mm f/1.9 lens. This is a large format vintage lens from the 1950th, used in a contraption to take photos of oscilloscopes. It produces a distinct swirly bokeh.

I processed a soft and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
