A flock of Black-tailed Godwits gathered along the shoreline, captured during a quiet moment of rest and preening. The image highlights the beautiful variation in their plumage, from the rich, warm chestnut tones of breeding plumage to the softer greys and browns of non-breeding birds. Standing in the shallows, their forms create soft, delicate reflections on the calm surface of the water, showcasing a natural slice of coastal wildlife behavior.

It is found in the undergrowth in pairs or small groups, escaping by running and rarely taking to the wing when flushed.
They feed on berries, seeds, tubers, drupes, small mollusks, insects and flowers.
