The brown-headed gull is slightly larger than black-headed gull. The summer adult has a pale brown head, lighter than that of black-headed, a pale grey body, and red bill and legs. The black tips to the primary wing feathers have conspicuous white "mirrors". The underwing is grey with black flight feathers. The brown hood is lost in winter, leaving just dark vertical streaks.
This bird takes two years to reach maturity. First year birds have a black terminal tail band, more dark areas in the wings, and, in summer, a less homogeneous hood.

While birding in New Jersey. I met someone who was really pissed as they are being called robins. In reality European settlers gave them the name Robin as they resemble the European robin because of their orange breasts. Apart from that they are no where related. Finally she said, “Hate the name but love the bird” ❤️
Waterfowl is the hardest subject to photograph and also my favorite, especially in India. So for this shot, I had to almost lean into the water from a small boat to get the eye level and blur effect and also keep in mind with the composition and behavioral aspect, but overall it's worth every pain you faced while shooting. This is the first shot of the series enjoy. Thanks for viewing.
