On the quiet morning waters, a great crested grebe gently feeds its chick — a reminder that not every young bird enters the world ready to fend for itself. While ducklings often start searching for food almost immediately after hatching, grebe chicks depend heavily on their parents during their first weeks of life.
Patiently, the adults catch small fish and insects, offering each meal with remarkable care. It’s a beautiful example of devotion in the wild: parenting measured not in words, but in endless trips across the water, tiny meals, and constant protection.
