We will have to find out what they eat. They are wild birds and get sick if you just give them seeds to eat.

This embroidery was inspired by a bird on a Chinese embroidery in my possession. Silk thread (Devere Yarns' 06 silk) on silk dupion. Very much a learning piece, using materials I had in hand. I enjoyed stitching it.

I was taking some pictures of the bird action at the feed through a window and noticed this photo appears to have a ghost bird capture! Now you see it, now you don't!

The habitat of these kind of small birds from the foothills of Himalaya are sometimes the key of the picture.

Different colorful birds were seen hanging out at Cenote X’Canche, a waterhole near Ek Balam ruins, Yucatan, Mexico.

Every Wednesday morning at 8:30 am, volunteers lead a hike on Bird Island to tell its story. This island has been conserved for nature and wildlife. Geologically the island is growing (accreting), and has joined with Sunset Beach. From its southern end, you can see Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Raining on and off again, so all these shots were taken from my verandah. The birds are in the reserve just outside my fence and are common visitors to the area.

These are Noisy Minors also commonly known as Squeakers. They are quite acrobatic as they stretch to get into the flowers

Photographed on my last little photo expedition of 2007, an evening visit to Point Lobos on the Monterey Peninsula to shoot a winter sunset. (Note: this is not the actual "Bird Rocks" which are located just a bit further south along the coast in the park.)

One of a family of these colourful birds which visit us daily for an extra feed. This one was feeling the effects of some cold rainy weather.
