Brick Lane, London

Open 24 hours. Used to get late night bagels here.

Salt beef bagel from the legendary Brick Lane Beigel Bake. Basically they marinade a cow in seawater and then put it in one of their deliciously soft, sweet b(a/ei)gels. There is no escaping the fact that what you are eating is muscle. And it is tender, juicy and utterly fabulous; it took massive restraint to photograph it instead of just shoving it into my face.

These guys are open 24/7, serving devilishly good bagels with salt beef to anyone with an appetite. They're just off Brick Lane in London.

I took this photograph and only afterwards realised that among this crowd is someone I know.

The famous Beigel Bake. Brick Lane. If I'm honest I prefer the bagel shop next door.
