After having worked half a year at Noah's Bagels as an entry-level baker - I had sworn to myself that I'd never have anything to do with bagels again. That is, until we started making bagels from scratch, years later at a far better bakery establishment (Portage Bay). I loved it! This was my batch - perfectly shaped, dipped & stone baked. These had the greatest texture, nice & just chewy enough. These were for a weekend breakfast special to be served with house-cured lox; so good!

Postcard of Lou Beigel, 6204 Penn. Avenue, East End, Pittsburgh, PA

Published by I. Hobbins & Son, Pittsburgh, PA, Made in U.S.A.

There is no writing or postmark on this postcard, I'm guessing it is from the early 1900's as well.

I've searched "Lou Beigel" on the web & haven't come up with anything. This building is no longer at this address.

If anyone has additional information about any of these postcards, please let me know!

There's a discrepancy between the plastic bag in another photo and the sign. They must have changed the sign recently.
