00-BEGINNING
The shell was smooth between his fingers, smooth and intact, full of softly whispered –and inaccessible– promises.
He had been trying to break the shell for months now, looking for a tool that would be strong enough to make its way to the core.
It was just an egg, after all.
(Just an egg)
He looked at his map one last time, out of anxiety rather than necessity, perfectly knowing He was approaching Kymaris’s den, and asking himself what took him so far into his own madness.
The merchant who sold him the egg for little more than 15 units, had told him that inside it, the most sacred truth was concealed; the deepest secret of one’s heart was buried.
And he told him that a true person wouldn’t have any problem opening it.
Then he looked at him, for what seemed an endless time and for a minute more; He felt as if his soul was being probed, and He felt uneasy, nervous and finally angry, because He was a nobleman and a warrior, and the man standing in front of him was but a dealer dressed in rags.
At this point the man gave him the map of a kingdom called Goor, beyond Monti Alti, telling him that Kymaris might help him.
He stood there, puzzled and shaken, but before He could ask for a further explanation, the merchant was gone, swallowed by the multicolored crowd of Bezàr’s market.
With him were gone those penetrating eyes, the magic and what’s more 15 units.
Too bad. An egg was an egg and He was hungry.
In less than ten minutes, however, He realized that He would have to look for lunch somewhere else, because it didn’t matter how hard he was trying to break the shell, using his hands, stones, or even the heavy sword fastened to his side: the egg just wouldn’t break.
It wasn’t even scratched.
Now, weeks later, led by an overwhelming eagerness to unveil that secret, He was there, in the middle of an unknown land, lashed by a freezing wind, to meet the creature that possibly could give him the answer
the lamp may not be so well-kempt,
but its lit, and so it shall be forever.
Take me back to your fold, my deity.

Cosa faccio nella vita? Io fotografo :-)
Bella esperienza e belle persone.
In the beginning stages. I think I'm really going to enjoy building this fine Academy WWII vehicles kit. It is actually 3 kits in one box with accessories. The detail is amazing for the small 1:72 scale vehicles. I am starting with the Jeep which alone has 38 pieces.
Why am I building such small vehicles? They are to go with my collection of WWII aircraft to help realize the size of the aircraft.
I have always enjoyed building models since I was 10 years old building Revell and AMT model cars. As an adult I got into WWII fighters in 1:32 scale. Now I'm mostly into 1:72 WWII bombers and exotic late war Luftwaffe actual and concept planes. I have enough model kits to keep me busy until I'm 103 years old.

New week, end of holiday/travel season, new resolutions, new beginnings. A budding bud rising out of purple and green bokeh seemed fitting :-)

Every parent knows how hard it is to inspire their children and getting them to brush their teeth isn't easy. My daughter gave Chloe two toothbrushes that light up and she was totally mesmerized by them. She couldn't choose which one to use.
I love this quote by Meister Eckhart.

The Beginning
"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
- Winston Churchill
It seemed appropriate to challenge myself (yet again) for this New Year. I am starting the 52 week project, and I actually plan on finishing it this year, and grow as a photographer, and maybe learn a thing or two more about who I am as a person. I hope you all join me in this little journey.
This is the beginning, not the end.
I'm out of titles. I lack creativity.
Re-starting my 365 because my wireless remote came in through the mail!! Finally! This is a bad picture, but I'm learning to conquer this remote hahaha. I basically threw my camera on the floor and sat down and pressed the button. Oops. (:
This is the beginning of a travel journal from my backpacking trip with Eva to Budapest and Croatia during the Tulip Holidays.
1 Sunday morning 29th of April 2007 plane to Budapest.
Because I at left my pocket sleeping bag at home, I had to get up early. I crawled myself towards Jeroen one more time and realised myself that I would miss his kind and sweet eyes and am warm and smooth gentle body. He offered me to bring Eva to the station, so that it was possible for me to go directly from Scheveningen to the station. With an apple as a breakfast I ran to the bus stop near his house. The first bus would just come at half pas 8, thus I took the tram to the city centre and continued from there to my home in Scheveningen. In my house a Swiss cyclist and member of Hospitalityclub was staying. The day before I had already sayd farewell to him, thus he looked at astonished when all of a sudden I was entering the house again. He thought that I would be in Budapest already, but he was glad to see me and wanted to exchange some more bicycle tips. Because he had not found another sleeping place for th next night, I suggested to him to keep the key and come back to Scheveningen the same evening. He looked very glad but I to hurry so there was no more time for chatting, I ran out of the door with the sleeping bag under my arm. Jeroen and Eva were perfect on time and I had more effort to say farewell than Jeroen had. He looked at me very sober, but the weeks before he frequently had been very sad because it was not possible for him to join us because of the upheaval at his work. In spite of all kinds of warking activities on the tain track, the train to Brussels went simply on time, a unique situation because the last times that I went to Brussels there was always a delay. In the train for the first time time I had some time to read cabout the places where we wanted to go to. The Airport-express had, however, a quarter of an hour delay but we were in time for checking in on Brussels national airport. In the line of Sky Europe I felt myself guilty that I had let myself being seduced to buy such a cheap vliegticket. We could have taken the night train as well, which would not polute so much carbon dioxide and would be more fun as well. Plus it would saved us some irritation about all those empty headed fly travellers who have no idea if Budapest is within or outside the European Union borders. In an internet cafe we did a last attempt to organize a sleeping place by means of the hospitalityclub. All the people whom I had written to already had sleepers or were on holidays themselves. Eva found it pretty exciting when the plane took off and I was most of all glad that we do not need to cross a big pack of clouds. But actually it was idiot to leave the country with 25°C whereas we just could hope for nice weather in Hungary and Croatia. Next to us a club of Hungarian young guys with piercings had settled down. They all had a minimum of two piercings and they make a lot of fun with each other. The gasped each opportunity to stand up of their chairs or hang around. Eva and me had to laugh about their large collections of arm belts, with which they showed on how many festivals they had been.
This is a scene down along the river. I can't wait for all the colors to come out!! We're going to see my family in Great Falls in acouple days...I'm excited to get some new photos and see everyone....but not excited to leave my pups. My oldest son is going to watch them.
A westbound NS stack train is beginning its descent of the Allegheny Mountains just east of Cresson, PA. The differing grade profile of the two main routes is clearly evident here.
Yesterday I walked over to the boat launch area at the Alviso marina to check out the landscape there. The low clouds provided some diffussion effect to the light in the middle of the day. It would have been nice to walk along the river bank of Guadalipe. Unfortunately, my lunch break had to be quickly cut short due to a meeting. I quickly took this shot and went to back to my office.

I started acrylic pouring over the quarantine summer. It was a great project to keep me busy! I also love animals and try to incorporate them into my art whenever possible.
