This morning I put this quote together and then later I saw on Facebook my cousin is struggling today. Her brother committed suicide on Sunday and my heart feels crushed and I can only imagine what she is feeling. I started looking through all my quotes to find something that would help her and then the thought came to me to go read the quote I made this morning, and there it was, exactly what I was looking for. The Lord knew that I needed to make THIS QUOTE at THIS TIME. The Lord truly knows his children and is aware of their needs.

My sister, Debbie, shared a family home evening lesson she gave to her family. the hero was Nephi, and how he didn't know how he was going to get the brass plates when he started on his journey, but he knew that God had commanded it and so he was determined.

1 Nephi 3:7

And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them. www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/3?lang=eng

He had faith that God would provide a way for him to accomplish this great feat. Even with the great faith that he had, the Lord tried him and Nephi had many set backs. As a matter of fact, he didn't just ran into a few set backs... oh no, Nephi and his brothers had to flee for their lives on many occations, and yet he still persisted and put his faith and trust in God.

How many times do we have set backs with things that we are working? We need to like Nephi put our faith and trust in God.

My sister went on to tell her young kids that even when things get hard or if you feel you can't do something, we need to try, try, try like Nephi. What great wisdom here in this counsel. She shared how several times she will overhear her kids trying something and having a hard time with it, say to themselves or another sibling, we need to try, try, try like Nephi.

So, let us all do the same and try, try, try like Nephi in actions and in faith.

Lots of questions are circulating around about when or who will succeed our dear prophet Thomas S. Monson. This quote just rang in my soul when I read it. It really shows with power that God has truly prepared and orchestrated the succession of His mouthpiece on earth. What comfort that brings to my soul. I love Thomas S. Monson and he will be missed greatly. I also feel the peace of knowing that Russell M. It can be easy to get so involved in our projects or life that everything else takes a lower priority. For me, the single most powerful force for change in my life has been learning to hear the voice of Christ speaking to me personally through the Light of Christ. One example is with technology, it is so easy to send a text that you know will have a less than positive effect on the recipient. When we learn to hear Christ telling us "no" through our conscience (Light of Christ), and we then delete that message and instead send one of love, forgiveness, or understanding we learn to put the person to be loved above any project or agenda of our own. Let us all be more receptive of Christ's voice in our lives, and always side with actions of love and kindness.

Many years ago, as I stood in a parking garage, I remember as though it was yesterday, I felt the stirring of the spirit prompting me to ask my sister if she would like a blessing. My sister had been inactive for over a decade and was really struggling at that particular time. The spirit was so strong, and so I approached her and asked her if she would like a blessing. She said that she would like one. I laid my hands on her head and immediately the spirit went to work. I remember telling her that the Savior saw her face as He suffered for her sins. I remember feeling reluctant to say that to her, but the spirit was so strong and I knew that that is what I was to say. I knew it was true and yet I couldn’t comprehend it.

Then I found this in Moses 1:27-28

27 And it came to pass, as the voice was still speaking, Moses cast his eyes and beheld the earth, yea, even all of it; and there was not a particle of it which he did not behold, discerning it by the Spirit of God.
