What distractions and sins of omission are getting in our way that we are not willing to sacrifice? We want to be more valiant, then let us evaluate our lives and make some new commitments and resolve to take the necessary steps to honoring those commitments. "Most omissions occur because we fail to get outside ourselves. We are so busy checking on our own temperatures, we do not notice the burning fevers of others even when we can offer them some of the needed remedies, such as encouragement, kindness, and commendation. The hands which hang down and most need to be lifted up belong to those too discouraged even to reach out anymore.

Actually, everything depends—initially and finally—on our desires. These shape our thought patterns. Our desires thus precede our deeds and lie at the very cores of our souls, tilting us toward or away from God (see D&C 4:3). God can “educate our desires” (see Joseph F. Smith, Gospel Doctrine, 5th ed., Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1939, p. 297). Others seek to manipulate our desires. But it is we who form the desires, the “thoughts and intents of [our] hearts” (Mosiah 5:13)."

This really stuck out to me while listening to scriptures as I put the kids to sleep. How often do we feel that we do not get answers to our prayers? Verse 3 is very interesting: "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." The Power of the Scriptures

This is my daughter, Cessilee, who is 8 years old and who got baptized yesterday. My daughter, Lacie, took this picture and I think it is just stunning, and I had to make a quote out of it. This is my 16 yr old, Lacie's, first picture quote. I helped her like I helped each of my kids on their first. I think it is absolutely stunning. She texted me this scripture in Church on Sunday and said that she wanted to make a picture quote out of it.
