I've been experimenting with metallic papers and finding combinations that seem to work on them from the easy to use Stardream papers to the finicky gold and silver foils. This has lead me to this holographic paper that I've experimented on but couldn't find anything that would work on it. The Brilliance black seemed to work pretty well on the silver foil so I thought I would try that technique on the holographic. It took me a few minutes to figure out the application touch, the removal touch and just overall handling of this media combination but it seemed to come together. I found that, after allowing the initial ink to settle for a few minutes, while making my impressions, it took additional ink better and smoother so I could blend and darken areas more without the ink beading so much. I'll just set this scene aside for a couple weeks and allow it to dry. If it takes longer so be it. This surface is super dynamic and, for me, worth the wait. When dry, I'll probably matte it and put it into a clear envelope. The media, when dry, would probably still be prone to wiping off but should be protected in a clear envelope.
Original: 5" x 7" holographic paper. Brilliance black pigment ink applied with a 100% cotton ball (Brilliance is a pigment ink designed to dry on non porous surfaces. It won't dry fast but will dry eventually and could take two weeks.). Paper towel ink remover. Dr. Ph Martin's Bleed Proof White applied with a tooth brush.
Stampscapes stamps used: Spruce Tree Lg 078F and Leafless Pines (lg) 371G.
Despite tradition, you don't have to stack the increases on top of each other. In each of these samples, the black beads are the increases and the white beads the normal stitches. Top right: traditional circular peyote; bottom right: the increases are offset to form a spiral; left: the increases are scattered randomly around the perimeter. To form a flat circle, increase by two beads each round, or six beads each three rounds.
I chose to do this self portrait with my painting “Singing the Blues”; my painting is an experiment using mixed media (such as mirrors, beading wires, wool, mosaics) and acrylic paints on loose blue vinyl, the shininess of the vinyl made a perfect background for the blues giving the idea and feeling of music and singing and for the fact the vinyl was loose flowing one gets even more the feeling of movement. I chose a smiling self portrait using a top with colour combinations of blacks and blues and with gold geometric shapes in the background to compliment my painting.

I used only simple materials again, 11/0 seed beads, crystal bicone 4mm, pearl 4mm and czech fire polished round 4mm. You can substitute czech FP with pearl.

This is a tigerseye, phoenix, and gold findings pendant necklace. I had a rush commission job last week for Barb, who wanted something for her mother's birthday. I had a block at first as to what kind of necklace to make for to match the earrings, but once this got rolling, it got rolling. There's also a matching set of earrings to go with this.
