I called this one Fireworks. the hand dyed fabric looked like fireworks in the sky, so I embellished with that in mind. 2nd card made with this fabric.

The beading on the jacket took me a rediculous amount of time. I'd estimate somewhere between 80 and 150 hours total, but I did not keep a record. I wish I could have done more, but cube square said that I was killing myself just getting this much.
Czech beads, Japanese beads, Venetian beads, glass beads, river pearls,artificial pearls, rivoli Swarovski, quartz, ammonite, pyrite, tourmalin, geliotis (paya), artificial leather.
Try a bunch of designs (always reserving two beads for the necklace closure) until you find one you like.

A rich dark chocolate cake with fondant icing and topped with beading work to signify the couples tree of life. 40 ruby beads representing their married life and crystals and silver beads representing milestones, friends and the family that is honouring them tonight.
Cafe Verite / Cupcake Royale was closing, and as I exited I noticed two women with divided boxes of colorful beads were stringing jewelry together. This was the third time in a week I had noticed folks doing something together ( besides conversing) at a coffee house at night. What sorts of things have you seen people doing together in your local establishements?
That's f/2.8 at an effective 160mm (100mm lens on a Canon 10D). Depth of field is ~2mm, and probably closer to 1mm.

Yea it’s still going. I’ve been experimenting with beads and it’s been slow progress. The top ended up asymmetrical because of my stitching but it’s okay! Had to redo the beads because they turned out asymmetrical too but it’s looking better now. Trying to remind myself it’s my first time stitching beads and it’s okay if it’s not perfect (nothing is perfect). I’ll probably fix the left side before, but right now I’m still putting it off.
At this point I'd completed 1.25 rows.
The week has been one of ups and downs. I started off fairly well, finishing the row which my friend started me off on. Then, when I turned the corner to start off a new row (we started in the middle of the shoe) I made a mistake, requiring me to unpick. For the uninitiated, this requires that I pass my needle back through the point at which I'd just pushed it through. Not easy. I did it eventually, continued with my beading, and made another mistake. Tried to unpick and managed to snap the thread. Started again, and after another few beads made yet another error. By now, I was feeling a little frazzled. I decided that I'd just continue as a light pink bead being substituted for a white bead did not seem to be something one would notice in the grand scheme of things. Carried on blithely and at the 1¼ row mark, I discovered that I had inserted an extra light pink bead some 15 beads back. (The photo shows my beads and beading frame just before I found out about the error.) This was unlike the previous errors whereby I realised my mistake practically immediately and could adjust very quickly. This extra bead could have ripple effects for my whole shoe pattern. So I unpicked the whole ¼ of my row of beads!!! Sigh. Moral of the story: rectifying mistakes when they are small is so much better than having to clean up larger messes!
the new top is some sort of fabric, where the old one was vinyl. I sprayed the hose on it, and three hours later, on an 85°F day with full sun, this is what it looked like.
