Try a bunch of designs (always reserving two beads for the necklace closure) until you find one you like.

A rich dark chocolate cake with fondant icing and topped with beading work to signify the couples tree of life. 40 ruby beads representing their married life and crystals and silver beads representing milestones, friends and the family that is honouring them tonight.
Cafe Verite / Cupcake Royale was closing, and as I exited I noticed two women with divided boxes of colorful beads were stringing jewelry together. This was the third time in a week I had noticed folks doing something together ( besides conversing) at a coffee house at night. What sorts of things have you seen people doing together in your local establishements?
Yea it’s still going. I’ve been experimenting with beads and it’s been slow progress. The top ended up asymmetrical because of my stitching but it’s okay! Had to redo the beads because they turned out asymmetrical too but it’s looking better now. Trying to remind myself it’s my first time stitching beads and it’s okay if it’s not perfect (nothing is perfect). I’ll probably fix the left side before, but right now I’m still putting it off.
Several pearl patterns were discarded before deciding on the stripe pattern.
The larger iridescent beads on the shiny edge were a prize-gift at the Xmas guild meeting.
Possibly my favourite: The pale tear-drop sequins are punched from a tofu container.
Cadence models Black Diamonds on Green which may or may not end up in a place we can't talk about. Like the other dresses in the Black Diamonds style, it has beaded smocking in a diamond pattern, contrast collar and cuffs, and a machine-embroidered, scalloped hem.
This photo shows the top view of the mermaid's tail, which is now completely beaded. Next I will add some fiber and embellishments to her waistline, where the tail meets her body.
