Weekly Photo Assignment - Celebrating 100 - Elements
82* and just had to take a walk on the beach today. Gorgeous out.
Day 80 of 365.
I spend my weekend at the coast. The weekend included some swimming and water skiing in the ocean! Some photos will follow as soon as Anssi gets home and loads the photos to his computer. We used the combination of EOS 7D and 70-200mm f/2.8L IS at the boat in order to achieve full weather sealing (for the 5D Mark II is not weather sealed). The weather sealing was indeed needed for it was a bit windy and we were cruising fast (so my lens is covered with salt now :D). I succeeded to get up on the fourth attemp after splashing hard three times and swallowing large amounts of sea water! But the fun part began when I got up. It was super fun although I got some bruises and my arms are quite tender now. :P
Nha Trang is well known for its pristine beaches and excellent scuba diving and is fast becoming a popular destination for international tourists, attracting large numbers of backpackers as well as more affluent travelers on the Southeast Asia circuit. It is already very popular with Vietnamese tourists. Nha Trang Bay is widely considered as amongst the world's most beautiful bays. Tourists are welcome to participate in the Sea Festival, held biennially.

This phenomenal black sand beach (apparently now being called Diamond Beach) is on the opposite side of the Ring Road from Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Chunks of ice and small icebergs (which break off from the glacier Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet of Vatnajökull glacier) drift through the narrow channel between the lagoon and the Atlantic ocean and many wash onto the beach. Ice and black sand beaches are two of my favorite things, so I was in heaven here! I wish more than anything that I would've had more time here, and that I would've had enough time to shoot long exposure shots of the tide wrapping around the ice. Alas, I really wanted to get to my next guesthouse before it got too late to check in.
It's a dream! Most beautiful beach I've seen so far. Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Islands, Australia.
