I am not really a fan of beaches of any kind (well, sometimes :-)) but this one is very special. I'd never seen a more beautiful beach before, really not! This is the so called Turtle Beach in the beautiful Sultanate of Oman. The beach is not easy to access, you have to drive a quite long distance and then walk, but it was worth it. We didn't see any turtles, though. They come in the night and you must book a special tour because this beach is then closed for the visitors

Shot at the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario, Canada. This is looking out from Dunks Bay onto Georgian Bay which is part of Lake Huron. This is a favourite vacation spot for my family and I in the summer. The distant land mass is called Bears Rump Island. It is uninhabited and part of a National Park.
Thanks for viewing!
The sun is rising over the waves of the South Pacific ocean on the coast of New South Wales, Australia.
These waters are also known as the Tasman Sea being that stretch of ocean that lies between Australia and New Zealand.

The object you see in the foreground is the remains of the SS Atlantis, one of 12 concrete ships built just after World War I. In 1926 the Atlantis broke free of her moorings during a storm and ran aground at Sunset Beach in Cape May, NJ. It has been here ever since, slowly decaying over the years and creating the iconic profile of Sunset Beach.

Imagine you are on a dream beach in the summer and have it alone for you...
Reminiscent of the Caribbean, a manless sandy beach on the Isle of Harris, outer Hebrides.
Stell dir vor, du bist im Sommer an einem Traumstrand und hast ihn für dich allein....

♬ ♬... And it fills me up
And it starts to shine
And I see it burn when you bring me sunlight
Is it all you need
To feel this heat
To feel like everything is all that you dreamed
Is it all too much
Did you get enough
Does it set on fire all the things that you touch
And it fills me up
And it starts to shine
And I see it burn when you bring me sunlight...♬ ♬
I got to thinking how different all our beaches are along our little stretch of coast - no two are the same. They all have their own personalities to me.
I Googled “Central Coast beaches” and it described the area as a “peri-urban region lying on the Pacific Ocean in northern New South Wales…” peri-urban! That was a new one for me, but it actually fits perfectly. Our street has seen cows and cars, peacocks and posties, snakes and scooters. And I reckon it applies to our beaches as well.
We’ve got around 80 kilometres of coastline, dotted with 49 unique beaches. (I'm up to 47) My photos might make them all look remote and wild, but the variety is pretty amazing; from toddler-safe, fully serviced spots, to dog-friendly stretches, to hidden little beaches reached by obscure trails (my personal favourites, of course). It’s like a beach smorgasbord that I have a "as much as you can eat" lifetime pass to. Unlimited sand-whiches ;) I feel very lucky to have it all on the doorstep.
This photo is a slightly different take on what I know as Bateau Bay Beach, albiet a bit of a scramble from the main beach. The only other reference I’ve found is on Google Maps, where it’s called Coloured Stone Beach. Personally, I reckon Driftwood Beach would suit it just as well… maybe I should try and make that one stick, log my suggestion 😉
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone, and thanks as always for any visits and comments — always appreciated!
PS - I accidentally swallowed a bunch of synonyms today… now I’ve got thesaurus throat I’ve ever had.
