Whenever I stroll along Hove beach I normally come across little more than seaweed and the occasional cuttlefish. This was, as they say, a turn up for the books...
The beach "sand" here is composed of broken and ground shells, most of them consisting of the bleached skeletons of coralline algae from the nearby reef. The contrasting black rock is Jurassic basalt, raised up from the ocean floor. The island in the distance is Isay beyond which lies The Minch, the strait that separates the Inner and Outer Hebrides.

I went over to the beach and marina yesterday afternoon to try and catch the sunset. It wasn't as nice as I wanted but still very colourful. I specially liked these reflections at the beach after the sunset.
Drini beach is located in Gunungkidul, Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Cortez Island. The Island is beautiful and the lunch we had at Squirrel Cove was so perfect. Tempura battered spot prawns, Prawn cocktail with vodka, small scallop ceviche, and the craziest was the Panko crumb crusted deep fried dill pickles :0) The beach had abundant oysters, clams and Sea Asparagus. We picked some of the Sea Asparagus and had it for dinner. Yumm!
