Night on Cabarete Beach, Dominican Republic - lights from properties along the beach are lighting up the surf under stormy skies with the lights of Cabarete in the background
Blackrock Beach on Big Talbot Island, featuring layers of what appears to be rock but is actually compacted mud influenced by the tides.
I was drawn to this composition and image by that hole in the rock in the foreground and the dark green seaweed at its side in contrast to the other color throughout the scene.
Taken a few weeks ago during another sunrise outing at Newcastle South Beach, NSW; Australia.
Accompanied by friend and fellow flickr photographer Paul Hollins we did get wet thanks to the the rain being brought to shore from the cloud you see towards the horizon!
Thanks for any comment, viewings or favorites - hope you like this one!!
Hope you had a great weekend - all the best for a terrific week ahead!!
late spring on isle of Harris, with a low sun the dunes at Nisabost beach were just so dramatic that day. i love the contrast between the dark skied and the golden sands.
A beautiful black sand beach near to Dyrholaey and these shots were taken about 1 hour after the sunrise shot posted previously.
Photographers are like scientists. They look for order out of chaos in the world. Try to find pattern, orderly arrangement of things and simiplicity in your scene.
This is the first lesson on composition from my teacher.
Then I learnt from another experienced photographer. You need to find the break-out from the pattern, from the orderly arrangement. That will offer more interests to your picture viewers.
What can be used as the break-out from patterns? How should they be positioned in the scene?
A shot taken at Iona Beach Rark Richmond.
The scene brings back to me the questions about composition.

Europe, Belgium, Vlaanderen, Schelde, Antwerpen, Petrochemical industry, Beach (uncut)
The elongated river Schelde beach of Antwerpen faces the petrochemical industry. It's a bit like the beach of Hoek van Holland. And like in 'De Hoek' there are very nice 'strandtenten' .....and one is definitely worth your while - 'De Zonnebloem'. Eating 'mosselen' there is a rare treat.
Oh, and when you go to the Antwerp Schelde beach, the Waterbus is an excellent option. It offers a very engaging ferry ride.
This is number 110 of the Beaches album.
Holywell is a coastal village in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is at Holywell Bay, about three miles west-southwest of Newquay.
Happy Fence Friday to all! Another beach fence but no water, just a lot of sand. Today will remind me of the day we spent here as it is a clear blue sky and a perfect temperature.

Ponce de Leon claimed Florida for Spain in 1513. (Christopher Columbus discovered North America in 1492 but actually landed in the Bahamas). Other Spanish explorers later found gold and silver in Mexico and Peru. The treasure was sent back to Spain in ships sailing in the Gulf Stream. Spanish settlements needed to be built in Florida to protect the Spanish Treasure fleets. King Phillip II of Spain sent Pedro Menendez to settle in Florida and drive out French garrisons recently established there. In September 1565, Pedro Menendez with 700 soldiers and colonists landed here and founded St. Augustine making it the oldest continually occupied European settlement in North America ~ Treasure Coast ~ NE Florida ~ Saint Augustine Inlet
Riding a motorized self-balancing scooter (aka hoverboard).
St. Augustine Beach (Crescent Beach), Florida, USA.

▶ Photographer's note:
To create this image, I panned the camera horizontally across three frames. I then combined these frames into a single panoramic shot, carefully removing the hoverboarder from the left and right images while retaining him in the center.
