Driftwood often brings a certain element of surprise to a beach. These surprises lead to many conjectures and stories.
Feel free to make up your own story.

Sunset on the Atlantic Ocean tide pools, Coligny Beach, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
These grow all over the sandy areas at the beaches, parks, and along the road.
Rosa rugosa
Cape Cod Massachusetts
Returning to Harlech beach and a combination of colour that I think complement each other rather well. The perfectly still waters of the reflection and sand ripples were the draw along with the interesting sky.
Saw the sun peaking through the shade of some trees by the beach and thought it'd be a great opportunity to get a nice sunburst as a foreground subject with the majestic sky and sea as the backdrop.
Blue hour beach shot.

An experimental shot of Amble's new beach huts but one that I think has worked quite well. The light was a bit subdued and the tide wasn't quite right, but the chances of me actually being down there when everything comes together is remote so I'm happy with this as it is.
Snow covered beach at Dunnerholme on the Duddon Estuary in South Cumbria. Scafell and other Lake District mountains across the water.
Wainuiomata Beach, located on the southern coast of New Zealand's North Island, looked to be a gentle and somewhat safe beach - when we first arrived...
However, if you'd looked closer at the previous photo, you might have seen a wave rising above the surface of the Pacific Ocean...
It didn't take very long for that seemingly slight disturbance on the ocean's surface to rise steeply upwards as it raced towards the shore, and with a loud ker-THUMP, a wall of water landed on the beach right in front of where I was crouched!!!
I think in surfing talk this would be called a Beach Break... but view Large to get a better feel for just how big this wave was!
(And in case you're struggling, the beach is called Wai-noo-ee-
ow-maa-tuh! Easy as, eh???). :-))
Continue to keep well everyone, and a big "Thank You" for taking the time and the trouble to leave a Comment...! It's always nice to hear from you, and your comments are always greatly appreciated...!
Positioned along the beach on the western shore of Lake Michigan stood this canine-looking driftwood.
As the sun goes down and the sounds in the forest change, children play in the last light of day along the beach.
A stunning pristine white beach, clear turquoise waters, sunny skies. The stunning white beach is typical of what can be found all along Scotland's north-western coastline. Seen on a glorious day in early October!
This view shows the main beach at Achmelvich (Gaelic: Achadh Mhealbhaich) in Sutherland. The name comes from the Gaelic "Achadh" - a plain or meadow and "mealvaich" - sandy dunes. It is a (very) small settlement at the far end of a single-track road with a Youth Hostel (seen on the right above), campground, caravan park, laundrette, shop and take-away.
Dogs are banned from the beach during the main tourist season and are also not permitted at the campground and caravan park.
