I finally found a rainbow batik to use as the main background fabric. The piece was a large remnant at just 52 x 44" So, I added the rainbow up top to make the quilt a finished 60X60". I still need to piece up a simple back and then quilt it up! It's crazy bright and busy, but I'm loving how happy it is. And, my kids love it too.

These bangles were made using Indonesian Batik. The monochromatic colors are distinct to the Java Batik. Since the patterns are already intricate, embellishments are not needed and they look great in sets of threes!

Or you can buy them at fabric stores :) Another great tip: if you live in Malaysia, tailors usually have tons of scraps which they throw. They are more than willing to give away their remnants free of charge as long as you ask!

I used the New Wave pattern from Oh, Fransson! but changed it a little - first, I made it at 75% of her numbers so it's a baby quilt and also added two rows so the stripes go horizontally. I love it! Measures 37x40 with those changes
